Shaw had a cut that while I'm sure hurt like hell was largely superficial.
I couldn't deal with a broken rib after three days and I sit in a seat and operate machinery all day. The second anyone checked me I would have been crying for my mommy.
Bergeron is nails.
That was more than the cut, though, man. That damaged his entire cheeks as far as swelling, pain, etc. I know that feeling. I get comparing that to Bergeron as far as there really is no comparison, but that was more than just a painful cut. I'm surprised his cheek isn't fractured.

If the report on Bergeron is true comparing that to Shaw is ridiculous.
Shaw is not going to die from a broken cheeck and a couple of cuts.
Shaw and Bergeron were not comparable injuries, but the decisions to play through them might have been similar.
Swelling in the head can have some nasty and very dangerous consequences a few hours later. If they were positive he didn't suffer a concussion and the the swelling was not going to be a problem up high on the head, then I don't have a problem with Shaw playing.
As long as everybody heals up well, it only goes down as a bad idea that worked out just fine.
