Very Early Prospect Stats

Once the season gets underway, I'll start in with my prospect stats, like last year.

But right now, only juniors and European leagues seem to have gotten started. So here's some very early stats for those players (GP-G-A-PTS-PIM):

Jonas Almtorp - Sundsvall, NHA 3-0-0-0-10
Troy Bodie - Kelowna, WHL 1-0-0-0-0
Kyle Brodziak - Moose Jaw, WHL 3-2-4-6-0
Sebastien Courcelles - Chicoutimi, QMJHL 2-0-0-0-8
Josef Hrabal - Vsetín Jr., CZE 7-1-0-1-16
J.F. Jacques - Baie-Comeau, QMJHL 3-0-0-0-2
Fredrik Johansson - V. Frölunda, SWE 1-1-0-1-0
Misha Joukov - Västerås, SHA 4-2-3-5-0
Alexei Mikhnov - Sibir, RUS 5-4-1-5-2
Jesse Niinimaki - Ilves, FIN 5-2-1-3-0
Kalle Olsson - V. Frölunda, J20, SWE 3-0-0-0-0
M.A. Pouliot - Rimouski, QMJHL 1-0-0-0-2
Zack Stortini - Sudbury, OHL 2-1-2-3-7
Mikael Svensk - Halmstad, SHA 4-0-0-0-0
Dragan Umicevic - Södertälje, SWE 1-0-0-0-0
Södertälje, J20, SWE 3-1-0-1-4

And like last year, I can't seem to find stats for Ivan Koltsov, who is apparently playing with Neftyanik Leninogorsk in Russia (not in the top league, though). I read that Neftyanik means "Oiler", so it's pretty appropriate.

Good to see that Broziak is lighting it up.

It's that line, basically. Moose Jaw has scored 7 goals in 3 games. Brodziak and Troy Brouwer were in on six, while Tomas Fleischmann was in on all seven so far. Hopefully they keep it up.

I though Brodziak was the best skater in the Rookie vs. Bears game. It looks like he's off to a good start. Niinimaki looks ok considering he's the 3rd line center there. And Mikhnov, what can we say. Unless you've been to Russia you haven't seen him in person. Stats look good, perhaps we'll get a look next year.

Any word on where Freddie J is playing, lw or c, and on what line (1st-4th)?

I know he was listed as a center b4 but I think his league stats last season had him pegged as a lw on the j20 team.

Stortini is on pace for 120 points!

Buh-bye Comrie!!!!!!

Where are you getting the stats for the Russian League. I used to get them from russianhockeyinsider.com but they do not have the new years stats. How is Muratov doing. I cannot believe how good Mihknov is doing. He only had 6 goals all of last year.

I got them from here. The poster Cagney provided the link on the prospects board. The site is in Russian, but I can read the names at least, so it's not too much of a problem. It's a team site, but it has stats for the entire league, which is pretty cool.

I took Muratov off the list ever since Guy's conversation with Prendergast, where he basically said Muratov will probably not be over in the foreseeable future. Anyway, his stats are: 6-0-2-2-2.

Thanks for the link!

You can use a Russian/English translator to help read the text. The site has his new weight as 104 kg which is close to 230lbs. I think one of GuyF's interviews also mentioned he had finally grown up.....

http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr

Good news on the scoring for early season. Hopefully he can keep it up. Last year he started out scoring and then fizzled.

I was just looking at the russian site here at hf, is the Sibir team that Mikhnov is playing on in the "high" league?

If that's the case then there's still one league higher than that, the "super" league.

I also noticed that Ovechkin got 13-7-20 in 13 games in the russian "1st" league for Dynamo, is that the same as the Dynamo in the "super" league, or is it a different one?

Yep, like Speeds said, he's in the highest league. So is Ovechkin. I believe Koltsov is in the "high" league, Visshaya Liga.

According to the stats I have, Ovechkin has 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 games, which I think is pretty decent for an 18 year old.
