Game on! Game off!

The top 3 this year is such a crapshoot, all 3 have superstar potential. Mackinnon is still #1 for me though.

I "might" change my mind finally before the draft....I do usually put A LOT of emphasis on the age. And it is a big thing at that age such a gap.

Still rather have Jones if I'm Colorado.

The Q is a weak league... In your face the OHL and the WHL ! For those two leagues, the "L" means "losers".

I think Drouin is pretty much that size right now, and I'd give Mac almost an inch and 5-10 lbs on him.

Yes sir! And it's not only about those 3 wins in a row. I think this was the 10th final appearance in 14 years. If we were that weak...it wouldn't be that number.

Thanks man!!

I just need the Habs to pull out a cup win now in my life-time.. A few more years to wait before I can begin to think that. Let's hope this 2013 draft is part of that cup hopeful team.

Somehow, I believe everything will cool down...and they'll go with Jones. It's not solely or mainly about who's great now. It's about what you think of a player's ceiling. Jones is indeed older than Mac. And Mac hasn't finished progressing yet....but a d-man, well it takes more time. You see that Jones has still things to learn. But you see the upside. I think that my main problem with him is that he doesn't want it enough. He's just surfing on his natural talent right now. The day he puts it all in....the kid could be scary.

But I'm tempted myself to make Mac my #1 pick.

Now....we also need to be careful. If people are putting a whole lot of emphasis on this tournament....how do you think a guy like Barkov or Nichuskin would ahve done in it? Nichuskin might have been just as powerful as Mac was. And Barkov might have been more complete than any other player in it. Again, let's be careful, in a concept of the best players reunited, Jones was awesome. Drouin was great. And Mac was...okay. Now in a concept of a team, it's almost the other way around. In the end, those tournaments are just added to the rest. But It has to be tough for a head scout to just reflect on it and not be excited by what he just witnessed....

There is a way to see what just happened to reflect on the Habs....let's make some trades and draft Mac and Drouin!

Here's an exemple when not having a 1st round pick didn't matter as Rattie IS a 1st rounder.

I remember when the Q was the laughing stock of the CHL. Before Mike Therrien and his Preds changed things a bit.

The Habs have 34 and 36, which means Scott Mayfield and Adam Clendening for that same year. Ugh.

The question... Could Oliver Bjorkstrand develop into a Rattie type of player ?

They have similar numbers before the draft and Oliver is only in his first year in north america.

Food for thought !

On Team Canada's website at the beginning of the year, for the U18, they had the 'good sizes'.

MacKinnon: 5'11.25 and 182 lbs
Drouin: 5'10.75 and 187 lbs

It probably changed since then.

He's a 20 years old player. 99% of all drafted players are in the AHL at this stage...

Honestly, the only way a tournament like that makes me change my analysis is if a player I had no idea existed shines. For some, Weegar never existed. Now...he does.
What sold Weegar to me is the fact that Ducharme sent him out at 4-3 with a minute left. Tells me a lot about the confidence he has in him.

Yup, these guys are something else. And Mackinnon creates turnovers a plenty with his speed.

For the record, I still think Mackinnon will go before Drouin, but I personally would take Drouin before his buddy. 5 assists tonight, and those were not just dump-ins, he's a genius with the puck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but San Jose were loaded on D prospects in the AHL. They didn't have spots for him right away, and he wasn't left in a bad spot either with a stacked Halifax team.

I'm pretty certain he'll get signed by the Sharks. He could have played in the AHL this season based on talent, but the Sharks had no spots for him.
