Yes, with Allen, Binnington and Lundström, The Blues should have at least one good starter, and maybe one good back-up and future starter.
I'd honestly include Tremblay in that list as well. He's been off to a great start to this season despite only a few starts, yet I think this may be his year.

I don't know if I would call 8 goals against on 73 shots a great start. Obviously I haven't seen the games but it doesn't look like he's come close to dominating. Still, it's been good enough for a 2-1 record, I guess.

For a fifth rounder, I'll take a GAA under 3 any day, and his save% is almost at .900. He's improving, that's what matters.

Another impressive game from Lundström. Rough start where he conceded a couple of goals on his first 5 or 6 shots, stopped the next 20+ though. Has a .935 sv% through 5 games.

Interesting that Södertälje have picked up points in the 4 games that he has started and been comprehensively beaten (3-0 & 4-0) in the 2 games that the back up played.

Goalies tend to be late-bloomers, I wouldn't be totally shocked if he managed to put it together eventually.

Without watching Lundström I have not idea what to think of him. Stats for goalies can be very misleading.

Blues sign Jacob Doty to a 3 year entry level deal. Judging by his hockeydb page, he's a scraper.

Good for him!!

So he'll be assigned to the AHL I assume, and there isn't much NHL hope is there?

Might not even be AHL, could head to the ECHL (do we have an affiliate down there?).

NHL hope? We seen something to give him a contract, but even if he does make it then it is probably going to be in 4 or 5 years.

Edit: Kalamazoo Wings is our ECHL team this year, same as the Canucks.

Carrier is now 1-4-5 in 4 games in the Q.

Vannelli made his debut for Medicine Hat, notching a PP assist in a 3-1 win.

Any reason they're loaning him out to another team? Not enough room for him on Jokerit?

Look for Jordan Schmaltz to have a nig year for UND this year. He will be a mainstay on the top PP unit while playing top pairing minutes with captain Dillon Simpson. He looks much improved this year, faster, more aggressive, and his poise with the puck is elite. Great PP quarterback.

That's great news. I wasn't worried about Schmaltz, but I was wanting to see a jump in his game and production.

Having him or Vannelli become a top 4 PMD will be key to our finances in the future.

Binnington was sent to Kalamazoo.

Yup. But they also wanted to get him playing time on the highest level instead of in Mestis.

He scored his first goal today, the gamewinner against HPK in a 3-1 win.

Lundström got lit up in his 5th start of the season, giving up 4 goals on 18 shots before being pulled. Impressive again in his next 2 appearances, .929 sv% in 9 games.

Good to see Binnington heading to the ECHL to get games.

Perhaps old information here, but Tyler Seaman (a late Blues pick in '12, I think) has retired from the CHL due to concussion issues. A friend and co-worker who billets Wheat Kings players describes him as a really good person.

Believe it was Tyrel not Tyler. But yea, from what I saw he always played a scrappy, defensive forward game. Had a slim to none NHL future though, made sense to retire.

It is somewhat sad. As someone who has had 4 serious concussions and also had to give up contact sports, I understand where he is coming from. He didn't have a very promising pro hockey future, so it makes sense for him to put his head and his future first.
