Smith v Lindholm v Gustafsson

Three young Dmen, one NHL rookie, one NHL part-timer, one AHLer. Best bet going forward?

I'd take Lindholm over both quite easily.

I know Gustafsson pretty well.

I don't know Lindholm much.

But every time I see Brenden Smith play, he impresses me, I voted him

Strange poll. Lindholm seems like an easy pick. Higher upside, already playing professional hockey, and he just oozes cool confidence on the ice. There's like a 5 year difference in age between him and the other two, as well. That's staggering. I just don't see a good argument for the other two, unless being 5 years older and having 5 extra years of development in someway favors them.

Gustafsson isn't an AHLer. He's shined in the NHL this past season, he'll be a top 4 guy next year. But still, it's Lindholm AINEC.

Smith. Plays very similar to Lidstrom, too bad they didn't allow him to shadow Lidstrom by bringing him up earlier in his career.

And no, I'm not saying he's the next Lidstrom, I'm saying he plays similar to him.

He doesn't play anything like Lidstrom other than being a great skater.

I get what you're saying its just their styles aren't anything alike besides the skating and maybe frame. Smith is more physical and is a very good fighter but he doesn't have near the IQ and positioning Lidstrom had. Smith relies way more on his wheels to cover his ass, which doesn't work sometimes.
