He's probably already been discussed but I'm curious on people's take on Marc-Olivier Roy, particularly those who have seen him play. Not a big kid but seems interesting. Any chance we could get him at 55? And the bigger question is should we?

I like Erne game. I would be ecstatic if he was to fall to us. (Doubtful). I have him pegged at worst (16th overall) to Buffalo.

I feel like Shinkaruk could be a surprise faller.

As for special riser I feel Morin, McCarron and Muller are good bet.

Players in Blainville should have NO secrets from me. I should be the expert....watched them quite a few times on TV...and their arena is 5 minutes from my home so I've been quite a few times as well.....But Roy is something else. One day he's totally invisible and ineffective. The other day, you see the type of smarts that Charles Hudon is showing. And the other day you see the type of offensive game that Pageau was bringing. So inconsistency...like tons of players of his age. Tougher to judge though.

I'd have Roy at best as a 3rd rounder. At worst as a high 5th rounder. Very very worst with people asleep.

don't see the habs drafting a soft defenseman in the 1st round.

Funny when you say that because Morrissey is anything but soft. Don't know where you get that. Popular vote. Morrissey was the BPA for Montreal when I asked on the boards.

Is Morrissey that good to skip on Rychel or Burakowsky?

Put Morrissey in the "not sexy pick" but oh so much worthy a little later....

Personally, I believe that a defenseman like Morrissey is more hard to find than wingers like Rychel and Burakovsky. Morrissey has been under the radar a lot but I performed really well at the IIHF U18. He's definitely my pick at that spot. He a better prospect than Beaulieu and Tinordi were at their draft year. He hits, he skates, he shoots, he plays both ends of the ice. And he's also a very good PMD.

Certainly good to skip on Rychel. Wouldn't pass on Burakowski for Morrissey but would pass on Burakowski for Morin, so the point is kinda moot.

Wait what?
Would you call Subban soft?!

Morrissey is probably the toughest pound for pound defenseman in the draft. He is IMO the top defenseman in the draft it just happen that this year most defenseman are giants.

I see a lot of Duncan Keith/Scott Niedermayer in him. If he is our pick It would be a HUGE steal!

Subban
Beaulieu
Tinordi
Nygren
Ellis
Thrower

I see a much greater need on forward.

we keep getting screwed by the BPA always being a D man! hahaha.

If Morrissey is a better prospect than NB was than I'd definitely take him. I begrudgingly trust the BPA. I'm really hoping for gritty forwards with those 2nd rounders though.

No problem. Just my input, means so much. I'm wrong a whole lot but liek every scout would tell you, you have a much better feel for a player when you go and watch them live. Yet...Roy is something else for me.

Doesn't matter, take the guy you think is going to be a better player. Top end 2-way defensemen are worth their weight in gold.

With players like Dauphin, Carrier, Duclair, Sorensen, Compher, McCarron, de la Rose still available in the 2nd round and our 3 2nd round picks, I think we should pick the BPA with our late 1st round pick. Our defense on paper might look filled, but you can never have enough defense. We had Mcdonagh and we've lost him. When Emelin got hurt, you see how we were defenseless. I can see us having the best defense corps in the future if we make our picks right.

Aren't we all? I actually checked some past drafts and I saw a whole lot of guys I really liked have fallen by the wayside at this point. Some people should really look back sometimes to see that their opinions aren't really much more than opinions.

No he isn't Montreal has to draft Rychel if he is still on the board when they pick, he is exactly the type of player we need(BIG/TOUGH/CAN SCORE) and if we don't draft players like that then how the heck do we get them in our lineup.
