No. That is purely. Quality for quantity trade and not something the Jets are interested in.

A trade with Buff going back to the Hawks and Oduya going back to Winnipeg? Weird.

If TT was a pure RW, it would be worth a little bit of consideration. We need quality roster player/s for Buff and Jets fans know how mediocre Oduya is...

Buff is pylon and not worth money he is paid

I'd want to play LW but yeah, forget it, I was just pissed we don't have anyone in front and I know that there is absolutely no offer you can make to the Jets fans anyway.

I'm a big TT fan, but why would Winnipeg trade Buff for a bunch of question marks? If he was available he would bring in a proven top 6 player.

your joking me right?

Do you even watch our games or are you just guessing? The guy was 2nd in D scoring while playing the tough competition...over 60 some odd games. thats pretty impressive. Buff is a game changer, and can definitely put a whole team on his back if need be. Of course he does take games off, but the good definitely out weighs the bad.

This is exactly it. If we're trading an impact player, we're going to want an impact player back. Such as life. Id be willing to do a deal around Sharp and Buff for instance.

Danault - 26th overall 2011, pro-style two-way forward with some offensive upside

Teravainen -17th overall 2012, highly skilled offensive dynamo, Patrick Kane type upside

+ a 1st in a deep draft

Now I'm not saying that value is quite there or that this is something the Jets should do, but calling this quality for quantity compared to some of the crap you see on here is just ridiculous. We're talking about two good prospects and a 1st round pick in what could be one of the best drafts in a long time.

We don't need to tell Hawks fans what kind of player we have or what he's worth. They know, they'll have formed their own opinions of him I'm sure.

I can see it being very difficult to get an established top six RW back when half the teams interested in him would probably want him to play...right wing.

Come on BWC
You know that isnt true.

Yeah Buff has some defensive issues on occasion, but to call him a pylon is just false.

And he has been a top 10 scoring d man for a few years now.

He has pretty much earned his contract.

How are TT, Danault and a 2013 1st just quantity? That is pure quality at it's finest.

I'd take out your 1st and Oduya and add in Leddy and a later round pick. Then I'd probably have to take said deal.

The only enticing piece there is TT. Your first is at best, 28th overall. Not spectacular. And a prospect that was selected in the late first rd...not amazing either.

It's not my first, I'm not a hawks fan at all, just someone who knows enough about the game to know that your "quantity" statement was stupid.

Don't think the rejections here are a commentary on the value, they just don't suit our needs.

We are past the "rebuilding" phase and in the "going to the next level" phase. As such, if Buff gets traded, it's for a missing piece - which is a Top-3 C or RW - that can help us now. We're not interested in smaller pieces that may or may not help us in 2-3 years time.

There's a whole "Value of: Byfuglien" thread on here from a couple of days ago with proposals for Skinner, Ryan, etc. We'd be looking for more of a one-for-one deal, I think.

How is that stupid? There is exactly one nice piece there. A late first is nice I guess, but it's not like it's top fifteen or something.

It's 3 picks away from being a 2nd.

Danault could turn out, but chances are he'll turn into a third or fourth line player. We have more then enough of those.

As I said before, if we are trading an impact player...we would be expecting an impact player in return.

Not a great prospect, a good prospect that is reasonably high risk, and a very late first.

That is really not going to cut it for Buff.
