New Cameras in SBP?

Was at the game last night... Noticed 2 new large camera's installed (the ones that capture the majority of the play). Watching the highlights now, I realized that the angle is a little higher than usual.

Did they perhaps do this so that the towels and fans' arms don't interfere with the image, lol? It looks awkward watching from this angle... It definitely wasn't like this for the habs series

Perhaps you saw NBC sports feeds. On US TV we were watching from that higher angle you are referring to. Which I actually enjoyed much better. Almost as if I changed the view like in NHL 13

I was watching the highlights from the CBC feed, they also had the higher angle. Wonder if it will be permanent.. i hope not!

There were a ton of new cameras at the game last night - all around the concourse of the 3rd level.

I love the one that showed the whole crowd from the upper 300's after Alfie's goal. Almost felt like I was there.

The angle was brutal. Please never use it again.

Good to know I wasn't crazy in thinking the camera angles were off. Definitely didn't like them.

I hated it at first but by the 2nd period I forgot about it. I also enjoyed the 3rd level view of the entire arena.

I think it was behind 306 if I had to guess. Pretty much the same angle on the Greening goal as I did in 305

Wouldn't say I disliked the new camera angle. Would only say it was unfamiliar. I'm sure if it becomes a permanent thing we'll all get used to it pretty quick.

Didn't even notice it

NB: camera's? Really?

EDIT: thank you for changing the topic title, that was bothering to me no end and I'm a francophone!

I motion that heater123 henceforth be known as "Greengrocer".

The angle was pretty steep compared to normal. The game playing right now Det vs Chi looks normal but I did forget about it after a while. I really liked the post goal views from the back of the net of the whole play leading up to the Greening goal.

I like the main camera down a little lower. Not very fond of them giving me the feeling that I am watching from a box in level-400!

Why was the camera on the left of the rink though?

yeah i noticed it right away. i forgot about it after the first period though. i also enjoyed the cameras that were at the very back of the 300 level... gives the tv viewer the perspective that there are like 20k people jumping and cheering simultaneously.

And why is no one else mentioning this?? Who cares about how high it is, it's way off center. Not a big deal, but kinda annoying. The only other team that does this is the New York Islanders only because their arena is a dump.

Apparently the primary camera location was blocked so they had to go to the backup location. Not sure if it was fans blocking the primary location or what, but that angle was not intended (if I have the facts straight) hence the less than perfect location.

In the section we were in (115) they had a camera man standing at the top of the stairs near the entrance the whole game. He had a laptop on a stool beside him. Never seen that before. I wonder what he was up to?

I believe the normal camera's they use are located in the suite at the top of 222. Possibly fans sitting in the top row or something had a large sign or something of obstruction? But then surely they'd ask you to keep it down or whatever.
