So that's 7M?

It might hit 10M for game 7.

Last night did a 4.0. 28.8 in Boston, 21.3 in Chicago. Those numbers do NOT include OT.

Providence, Buffalo, Detroit, and the Twin Cities the other top markets.

Hartford market covers all of Middlesex County and just rough estimates here 90% of New Haven County, 40% of New London County, 2% of Windham County, 40% of Tolland County, 80% of Hartford County and 5% of Litchfield County.

Providence covers almost all of Rhode Island (only the Southwest part of Washington County and Northwest part of Providence County aren't covered) it extends into small parts of Windham and New London Counties in Connecticut, small parts of Worcester, Norfolk and Plymouth Counties in Massachusetts and almost all of Bristol County in Massachusetts.

I can't believe Detroit is up there... iirc, we're usually not for the Finals. A lot of people cheering against Chicago here.

Depends on where in the state you are as well as far as who you're rooting for. Its far more common in the south part of the state to see people rooting for the Blackhawks than it is in the northern part of the state. Part of this is Milwaukee's proximity to Chicago, part of this is the number of Chicago transplants that live in that area as well. At least where I'm from, however, you'll find some Hawks fans, but they're in the minority, usually surrounded by neutral fans, though the Red Wings have some bit of popularity up here as well.

As for me, rooting for the Hawks would be like rooting for the Bears or the Cubs. I just can't do it.

Went and looked at '11 and '12, along with '10 to have another Hawks reference point, and they were consistently near the top. Game 7 in 2011 drew an 8.7 there.

Even though the NHL finals and NBA finals wasnt played on the same days.....i think with the NBA being over tonight....NHL should recieve higher ratings for its final 3 games. All three games will be on NBC as well.

NHL Finals should be the only major sporting event going on until next week. We already know there will be 2 more games without any interference from anything else.

As a hockey fan in general living in the states...heres hoping it goes to a game 7. It would be the finishing tough on a very succesfull short year for NBC and NHL.

Game 7 of this series has the ability to draw 10+ mill fans. Would be unreal for the NHL's popularity.

In 2007 Michael Wilbon said MLS would be more popular than Hockey in a decade. 4 years to go.

Is the NHL sort of hitting its non-elimination game glass ceiling here? Because there is not much growth between Games 1 and 4 on NBC, like there wasn't much growth between 2 and 3 on NBCSN despite Game 3 taking place on a Monday.

GM1 received big numbers thanks to the fact that they played 2 games in a row. If it was a 3-4 period game, it probably wouldn't have hit 6M viewers.

Detroit and Buffalo in the top five is awfully nice considering CBC takes away a chunk of their rating.
