Suspect penalty shot is going to be GWG? Wings fan will be pissed.

The Toews no offside was far worse

Overall, a terribly reffed game.

I've seen the slash not been called at all many times. They decide to call it a penalty shot this time? And then the offside. Plus they were letting all the individual battles go all game, until they randomly decide to give Abdelkader a penalty and then go back to not calling it anymore.

Edit: found it. I guess it wasn't so myopic after all, it was just my memory that highlighted Byfuglien-Pronger, and Jim Hughson shouting, "and a war is raging in front of the net!"

That was a great series.

Same here. At least the sharks had good teams over the years and is a very well run organization. But the two Florida teams and Anaheim are jokes and it pissed me off that they all went to the finals before Ottawa and two won SC. Tampa in their 3rd playoff apparence and Anaheim in their 5th. We reached the finals in our 10th playoff..

It's crazy to think that Hossa, at the age of 34, is 10X the player that Heatley is today and 100X the player that Michalek, for whom we traded Heatley, is today.

Agreed. Though I thought the Penalty shot call was legit; they may have crossed the blue line at the same time, but he had a clear path to the net.

More like 10x the player 9MM is and 100x the player Heatley is.

But still

This is implying Heatley is 10X better than Michalek right now.

Kings have to be pretty good odds to hold this, but we've seen a fun third period collapse or two.

Kings-Hawks conference final please.

Damn, I was hoping for a Sharks-Hawks WCF, but I'll settle for Kings-Hawks, if that can happen.

P.S. Franzen brought that puck into his own zone, thus negating the off-side.

I thought the penalty shot was a terrible call...didn't think it was a slash whatsoever.

Tough to not like the way LA gets it done.

Toffoli was on with 6 minutes left at 2-1.

'Sherman va s'occuper de la paperasse' - Patrick Roy

Sir Patrick at the PC yesterday telling reporters that Sherman will handle the paperwork, in absolutely condescending fashion. Man oh man do I hate that arrogant jerk. I hope he fails as miserably as Gretzky failed in coaching (although I doubt it).

He did say that they might consider putting the #1 overall pick in play.

Call me crazy but I wouldn't be surprised to see Malkin traded over there for that pick and more. The cap is going down like crazy and they won't be able to support Crosby, Letang and the rest for one. And two, I don't know if Malkin wants to be second fiddle for Crosby for ever.

Step 1) your team desperately needs a defenceman.
Step 2) team wins draft lottery, you get #1 pick.
Step 3) the most celebrated defensive prospect in 5 years is available
Step 4) hey, by the way, you need a defenceman, and there is a franchise defenceman available with that pick you have. Just a reminder.
Step 5) ????
Step 6) trade that pick

Fun fact: The last 5 teams remaining in the playoffs are the last 5 Stanley Cup winners.
