Add the Pens to a team that will definitely be interested in Ryan Miller.Vokoun is LOLBad, and Fleury sucks too.Goaltending is definitely not important for cup contending teams

Oh, I'd say Pouliot and a 2nd sounds good for Miller

And Fleury lets in that one to kill any momentum from the Sutter goal.

The Pens are TERRIBLE defensively. I wonder how much we could get for Reggie from them if we went the whole "gutting the roster for McDavid" route...

I can't even remember the last time a Sabre sniped a wrist shot on the rush like those last two goals

Their back end is missing shutdown D. They have a solid set of PMD and offensive minded guys, but Orpik is clearly on the decline, Murray is a no-show...

One of my friends who is a pens fan tweeted "Yeah Sutter! We are NOT done yet, we're starting the comeback" right after the goal and then a minute later I see "...thanks, flower"

Harrington once again proving he's an idiot: Tweets crawford is "far and away the best goalie" of the remaining four.
Cause it obviously doesn't matter that quick got to the WCF with the kings averaging just under 2 goals per game, whereas chicago scores over 3

Oh, purely entertainment purposes? Ok, I can see that.

Good for information? Can't see it.

Which is why they are terrible defensively. For all the talk about their goaltending their defense isn't much better.

Crosby gave Marchand the tough guy stare after he was tripped.

Not surprised by the Penguins, more surprised they made it this far actually. They have almost none of the character that made them difficult to play against in '08 and '09 and even that team doesn't win without injuries to Detroit. That defense is very easy to play against.

their defense is why their goaltending has fallen off the map.... players like Scuderi, Hall Gill, Gonchar.... were the backbone on those cup teams

Scuderi is criminally underrated

There might also be the issue of coaching. I know I've seen Pens fans on here who think Bylsma got lucky with the Cup team but isn't that good a coach.

Lindy Ruff with that team would be quite interesting TBH. Could either be great or a complete disaster.

Goaltending conversation = irrelevant. Everyone knew the Pens weren't going to be relying on their defense. The question is: what happened to being the most stacked offensive team in a decade?

They are a far too one dimensional team even when they are scoring. I dont care what sport you are playing, that is not a recipe for a championship. It takes a great balance of defense, scoring, goaltending, with a little bit of luck mixed in to win a cup. Bruins did there homework and are executing.

THE STATS GUY ‏@TH2NSTATSGUY 24m

An example of why Corsi is a flawed statistic.....Crosby: + 11 in Game 2, Krejci: -9.
