TB fans: could a deal built around Burmistrov for Brett Connolly possibly work?

Agreed that Hawks have more flexibility with more pieces than others.

If for some reason not happening, Rangers almost automatically are looking for C depth/upgrade and would listen.

Not sure off top of my head what is a win-win match.

Burmistrov+Buff+Jets 1st round pick for Brett Connolly and Tampa Bay 1st pick in 2013.

Or

Burmistrov+Buff+2nd round pick for Brett Connolly and Victor Hedman

Or

Burmistrov+Buff+2nd round pick for Brett Connolly+Teddy Purcell

Is there anyone in the wings prospect pool or crop of current players Jets fans would like in particular for Burmi? What is the position of dire need for the team if he is traded, C or Wing?

The Jets attempted to trade Burmistrov and reportedly had discussions with the Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders at the deadline. The names Jakob Silfverberg, Drew Stafford and Kyle Okposo have all been attached to Burmistrov trade rumours.

http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/n...-headlines?r=1
The trade deadline was April 3rd. From late March thru the first round of the playoffs, Okposo was arguably the isles best player.

Snow would be kicking himself if he'd dealt Okposo, only to have Okposo break out with Winnipeg.

Can't see TB trading either their 1st or Hedman. And the last one is terrible for the Jets.

Have you not seen Stafford in two years or something? Guy has regressed hard since his 50 hat trick season. I'd say Burmistrov has more value than Stafford and a lot of people in this thread are underrating Burmistrov and his value signficantly. I imagine him wanting out has a lot to do with the fact that he wasn't drafted to be a bottom 6 player and that's how he's being utilized. Everyone will read into it as "Burmistrov has a crappy attitude no value heartless russian omg" though.

Top six C or RW, and a #3 or #4 LHD.

When he step in the nhl last year he played pretty well had 10 point in 42 game but with a + 3 in a defensive role and with the worst team in the nhl a +3 is pretty good ...

Burmi would love it in mtl with the Russian we have in Markov , emelin , gally
As a montreal fan this deal is awful for the jets, who wants a 36 year old winger, and prospect who is max going to be a third line player. And for the millionth time galchenyuk is not russian, he was born in the states and he is an american citizen.

Kristo or colberg plus one of our five draft picks in the second/third rounds for Burmi.

Granted that Stafford is regressing but bottom line is why would you trade Stafford to Winnipeg for the rights of Burmistrov when theres no guarentee that Burmistrov would sign with Buffalo it would be a majr risk.

Burmistrov just Instagrammed a photo of the article and added the caption "No, I haven't heard". Sarcasm or denial?

If the article is correct it says Burmistrov is not interested in going to the KHL. That means hes going to sign where he's traded. The vibe I get is it's a beef with the coaching staff in Winnipeg. If he was willing to play in Winterpeg I can't see why he'd turn down Buffalo.

If they were playing up the KHL angle, GMs would be more wary of trading for him.

I don't see why Ott unless this was before the deadline. Our top 9 is bursting with prospects.

I don't see Ott being a bidder.

Understanding the kid has upside, it's a shame for Winnipeg he hasn't put it together. He's had 2 1/2 seasons now. No excuses. Coupled with this news going public, I can't imagine a big return for him.

All I gotta say is is anyone really that surprised? I saw something like this happening when Winnipeg got their team back. Whether it's an issue of the city (Bryzgalov) or whatever reason it is for Burmistrov, this sort of thing is going to happen from time to time. I just hope Jets fans can accept it.

Too much. You would really give up Gunnarsson for him? The Jets have no leverage at all. An RFA who is asking out..good luck to them getting anything more than a 2nd or a decent prospect.

The Jets have no leverage even though he is fully under their control and has no arbitration rights? Good one. It's either play, or KHL if the Jets don't like their trade options.

This reminds me of Kyle Turris in Phoenix.

1 Player says I should be playing "here".
2 Coach says no, until you show more, you should be playing "there".
3 GM has to decide if he agrees with player or coach.

Personally, I think Burmistrov will never reach his potential. The kid has zero finish. He's got great stick skills, and some dandy moves, but his brain shuts off when he gets into the offensive zone. He's also outmuscled easily.
