If Ottawa had of scored on the rebound off the post there, could it have been waved off because of the strobe light flashing for the "goal" and putting off Vokoun? Or is that just bad luck?

Tonight? It's always horrible. We're just taking the lesser of two evils right now in net. We don't need great. We just need a goalie to make the saves he should & a key one here and there.

Sorta feel the same way. Feels like we might need 4 or 5 to win this one.

Fortunately I feel pretty confident we get a 4th or 5th. Just gotta start with a big kill here.

Some real positives that period. Anderson looked really shaky early and it enabled us to quickly strike twice and take the lead. Vokoun looked like he settled down that period, too. Disco made some nice adjustments that period, too. Eaton back with Letang was a must. Niskanen-Letang is a frickin' train wreck. It reminds me of the short-lived Goligoski-Whitney pairing. Enough already.

The troubling thing for me tonight is why are there Senators ALWAYS BEHIND the defense, all alone in front of Vokoun? All night there's been somebody open there. How is this even possible? Tighten that up. Put a man on that guy. Come on.

Dejan said Cooke's slash "couldn't crack an egg"

Props to Bylsma for utilizing Letang and Niskanen correctly (pairing them with familiar partners Eaton and Murray)

start of the game, Pens allow a short-handed goal.

Neal ties it up sometime later in the period.

then Vokoun's juicy rebound is given up to a Sens player for a tap-in goal.

2nd period: Kunitz scores 5-hole on a breakaway and Letang throws a puck toward the net for a tap-in off a rebound by Iginla. Pens winning 3-2 going into the 3rd but they have to kill about 26 seconds of a penalty.

Malkin's line looks a lot better than previously. Crosby's line has been a one-man show, his wingers have gone AWOL. I think Kunitz might be hurting. Vokoun had a rough first, great second. Anderson was exactly the opposite. Iginla's winning draws. Neal is playing well. Letang was awful so we moved Eaton to his pairing and he looks better.

Ottawa hasn't gotten many breaks in this game but overall it's not looking too badly.

Needs more attention to detail and focus at the ends of periods.

Bylsma letting Sutter take the left sided draw on that PK is a head scratcher with guys like Crosby and Jokinen on the bench.

Kill this off and don't sit back this whole 3rd period for the love of God.

PP to start the game, gave up a shorty.
Neal ties it.
Sens come back to take 2-1 lead
Dominated the first, but not much to show for it.

Kunitz with a breakaway scores to tie it at beginning of second
Iginla gets a goal shortly after and we've been up 3-2 since

Malkin line looks good.
Sid looks good, but Dupuis/Kunitz struggling.

Kunitz mysteriously injured or missing

Beau finished the period w/Sid and Duper.

They said the same thing the Isles did - the Pens are soft around the net, so they can get guys in there easily. Boston would eat them alive if that continued.

Milbury's comment was slathered in sarcasm. I was splashed by it through the TV.

Also, i thought Cookie's penalty was just a make up for the Niskanen crosscheck. Pretty obvious.
