Sorry about the self-post, but I realize how stupid a question this is in retrospect.

So much for my draft party at the bar.

It'll probably start at 10am or noon. It's on a Sunday.

I can't help but think that Colorado wishes they took Calgary's first for O'Reilly.

Pretty sure it starts at 3pm. At least, that's what I recall hearing.

So we are picking at 17 for sure or can that still change?

Swedish players will periodically fall a little bit on draft day.

A good portion of people had Forsberg going top 5 last year, and Collberg + Aberg in the 1st Round.

There's a good chance he could fall into our lap.

Still want Hartman though, but wouldn't be dissapointed in Wennberg.

I don't think that's necessarily a trend, can find many examples of Swedes being taken much higher than where "general consensus" would have them going, too. The 2012 draft many fell from those projections, and then 2011 and 2009 drafts many went earlier.

So they either raise ala OEL and Zibby or fall ala Collberg and Forsberg

Agreed, but often I find patterns in drafting continue for a couple years at a time.

I love the fact that we went further in the playoffs than both Montreal and Toronto, yet we're still picking in front of them.

Suck it!

Hartman is a bit of a reach at 17, but in a few years it won't seem that way at all.

Wennberg, Hartman, Lazar, Horvat

Heart guys are great, but its clear we need high end skill with puck possession qualities. We got murdered in that department against Pitt. Every rush they had they were able to penatrate our zone with ease, while we fumbled the puck/dumped it and lost the battle.

Yup. It's easy to find guys who go out and work there ***** off, but finding someone with pure skill isn't so easy.
