Krug could have been a nice touch but we didn't get him. And a few others. So much effort towards the US with so little results. And the same could said for the "local" part of scouting as the QMJHL was also forgotten for quite some time. Hope that with this draft, it changes a little. Don't make the Q guy the necessary BPA...but don't forget there's a Q.
We are not attractive to UFAs from any background. Highest taxes in the league if you make the Habs or worst city on the planet to play in if you go to Hamilton.

We all know we have to overpay. And frankly....we do. Not sure why it would be any different for those guys. What those guys want is to be desired as you have to be amongst the first with offers. But then, I don't think that Krug had 25 offers. You might have like DeKeyzer who was really wanted so you might not be able to compete even though they said that we were "in the running"...'cause we ALWAYS are but rarely wins.

Pretty obvious feeling that Boston will again win this one...This is the 1993 Habs. Where every OT is going your way....

I've seen several OT's with Rask. The guy is a monster.

Bruins are going to start gooning it up since refs won't call anything now.

You can't overpay ELCs though. When it comes to a bidding war for overagers/NCAA guys everyone is offering the same thing. I imagine that has a great deal to do with our failure to get any college free agents. It seems the only guys that want to sign here are guys from the Q who don't have a chance in hell of ever being NHLers like Lefebvre, Mayer and Delmas. Aside from those I just mentioned the only guy in our farm system that wasn't drafted or traded for by us is Condon. Seems we can only sign baddies and fringe goalies.

How do you go from the AHL and be as dominant as Krug is despite being so tiny and playing D....Just incredibly impressive.

Like I said, you have to give them the max AND be really interested in them from the get go. At one point, those guys, not really guys like DeKeyzer, but guys like Krug, do not necessarily have 20 offers. I know, from asking to some people, that Boston had Krug on their radar for quite some time, thinking that despite his stature, they had bigger guys with them that would take care of that job but that Krug would be awesome on their PP. In the end, Boston saw something that not everybody did....and it pays off.

Actually I was thinking the same. Both small and both have a bomb from the point.

It is just one series....but incredible how Krug looks so much more impressive than Hamilton. In a career mode...it should obvioulsy be the other way around. But as of now....Krug for MVP....

Unless Boston pulls another 3-0 collapse like with the Flyers, or blow the series lead like with the Leafs.
