Playoff Tickets

So I'm going to be in philly this weekend and am going to take my girlfriend to the Phantoms game on Sat. Should I buy tickets ahead or just get them there? Will I have any problems getting them that night? Any other tips?

I went to the last 2 games and I bought them at the game. You should have no problem unless all of a sudden Phantoms fever hits Philadelphia. They don't even open the upper level. If you do that make sure you get there a good 20 minutes early because there will be about a 4-deep line. I'll be doing that again this weekend.

Although I don't think that "Phantoms Phever" will hit Philly, it wouldn't shock me if the 2nd level of the Wachovia Center is opened for the conference finals.

My buddy and I paid $20 per ticket about an hour before game time for Game 2 against the Pens. They were supposed to be good center-ice 200 level seats, but the escalators at the Center we're cordoned off. We had to go to another line, and our seats were upgraded to second row Club Box seats at the blue line. We had our own little bar for our two sections, and a sizable minority of kooky Wilkes-Barre/Scranton fans. It was fun stuff.

$20 bucks for the upper level? That doesn't seem right. My seats are $21, in section 101.

I think they do open up the mezzanine, but the main escalator is never on and attendance up there is _very_ sparse. I saw maybe 15 people up there at game 2 against the Pens. As far as I know, only the $16 and $20 tickets are 200-level.

I could have gotten 4 ticket in 114 row 6 for $21/per from Ticketmaster.

Yes, but you also would have to pay the absurd Ticketmaster fees as well. Your best bet is to just get them at the game.
