Also makes me more comfortable in keeping Booth, new coach might play to his strengths. Or Roy, who looked so friggin' dangerous when he first came here before all the creativity was sucked out of him.
I hope the Canucks don't re-sign Roy. I've warmed up to giving the core of this team ONE more chance with a new coach but in my opinion there is absolutely no need to invest in Roy in the process. I say go with the core members we have now and integrate some youth, not only to fill the holes, but to develop them to be the next wave for our team.

Yeah, I'm sure MG would fire AV when there are no good candidates out there.

If we fans are ultimately the ones who dictated the firing of the coaching staff, then thank God the Canucks have us to help make those decisions. Otherwise, they'd be stuck in mediocrity forever.

I'm really bat**** crazy because I think a higher percentage play would be to have a pairing of Edler-Garrison instead of Garrison-Edler.

Or how about going with the cold goalie in a pivotal game 3 game?

Again, Gillis might have given AV a bad hand - but AV played the hand he was given very poorly.

Yup, I don't care what that coaching staff was trying to do. Anyone with half a brain knew that an edler bieksa pairing would be absolutely horrendous. I def. didn't even need to watch them play to figure that one out. The fact that they were playing even more than hammer and garrison is even more ridiculous.

For every "top team" that goes through this, there are 10 bad teams.

That's the nature of being a "top team" - for every one that does anything, there are 10 bad teams who also do it.

So pointing out that a specific action fails more often than it works doesn't really mean a lot - in a league where 29/30 teams fail every single season, it's almost completely meaningless actually.

Agreed. Pretty much the way I feel about that comment as well.

Not sure if serious...Marc Crawford is better than AV. I think Guy Boucher will do just fine with us.

Why the F is team 1040, matt sekeres and patterson, ect... keep pushing arniel, jesus.

Sounds like he is being interviewed to, but I hope its just a gesture since he is employed by us. Is arniel best friends with the team 1040?

Why the hell not?

He's part of the organization and when Gillis gets fired next year and the new GM [Linden]brings in his own coach..........Arniel can stay with them again.

Because former players as GMs (Yzerman, Nieuwendyk) have worked out so well.

Not to mention Trev has no interest working in hockey again.

Ray Ferraro would be a much better GM.

Unless Gillis pulls off a few miracle trades this summer and gets some big offensive type players...........this team will be at the bottom of the division ,next year.

Most of you laughed at my posts predicting that the Canucks would lose in 4 straight this year..........well damn.

No draft picks and a ton of under-performing primma donnas equals last place.

The Sedins aren't playoff type players..........look at their recent performance in Sweden.............15 pts in 4 games ,because they weren't getting hit like they do here.

Bieksa,Ballard and a few other overpaid D-men need to be traded to keep the young talent like Tanev.

Don't we have all our picks this year aside from our 2nd?

We should fire Gillis and hire Don Cherry.

Gillis is literally the worst GM ever. I cant believe we haven't won 5 cups in a row. AV was the reason why we made the playoffs this year.

Damn right. And I'll make myself the head coach as well so we can never see Bieksa and Edler paired together again.

Canucks media just loves arniel, probably know him already, and figure he would be easy to get interviews and comments from.

Elliott Pap ‏@ElliottPap 2m
Nux GM MIke Gillis on radio re coach search: "Scott Arniel will be considered absolutely." Arniel: "Definitely I'm interested." #canucks
