I'm finally happy that our 'good on paper' roster might actually have a chance to do some damage. AVs results (aside from 2010 and 2011) were underwhelming and I'm stoked to see what a fresh change will do.
Also makes me more comfortable in keeping Booth, new coach might play to his strengths. Or Roy, who looked so friggin' dangerous when he first came here before all the creativity was sucked out of him.
I hope the Canucks don't re-sign Roy. I've warmed up to giving the core of this team ONE more chance with a new coach but in my opinion there is absolutely no need to invest in Roy in the process. I say go with the core members we have now and integrate some youth, not only to fill the holes, but to develop them to be the next wave for our team.
I wouldn't give the nighmare pairing that was Edler-Bieksa more ES icetime than Hamhuis-Garrison a high percentage play. Call me nuts.
I'm really bat**** crazy because I think a higher percentage play would be to have a pairing of Edler-Garrison insted of Garrison-Edler.
Or how about going with the cold goalie in a pivotal game 3 game?
Again, Gillis might have given AV a bad hand - but AV played the hand he was given very poorly.
Yup, I don't care what that coaching staff was trying to do. Anyone with half a brain knew that an edler bieksa pairing would be absolutely horrendous. I def. didn't even need to watch them play to figure that one out. The fact that they were playing even more than hammer and garrison is even more ridiculous.
