TSN panel isn't his future, that's for sure.

If he is bought out. Canucks should take a stab at him for cheap.

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian
Burrows - Briere - Kesler

Briere is a one-dimensional player. Unfortunately, the one dimension he brings isn't very good anymore. He's become more like a half-dimensional player.

He makes a lot less in real money. The Sens would love him, I'm sure of it. If he can figure out the situation with his kids and ex-wife, I hope he accepts a trade to his hometown. We could use a guy like that.

Danny Briere's a good player, if Alfie doesn't come back he'd be a good replacement for Alfredsson on Ottawa.

you obviously know NOTHING about Briere's game

He is definitely not comparable to Alfredsson. You don't want him "replacing" Alfie

He has the situation figured out. I don't think the kids/wife issue is that big a deal. He was over in Germany for the lockout.

I love Danny Briere as a person and I'd be happiest if we were able to keep him in Philadelphia, but he's simply to expensive in terms of his cap hit to justify holding into him with the cap ceiling falling next season.

I am hoping that rather than buying him out, we will be able to trade him. Perhaps there is a team that doesn't think they could win a bid for him as a UFA that would be willing to give up a draft pick or prospect. I guess the NMC becomes a problem here, though. I think Briere would be great back in Phoenix, as they have cap room and wouldn't mind paying the $5mm total he is owed over the next two seasons. But I doubt Danny would waive to go there considering his family concerns.

if bought out, he'd be a good addition to CBJ...especially if Vinny doesn't come back...Briere has the same drive/passion to be great and lift teammates that our young squad needs

I am guessing if he is willing to waive his NMC(instead of getting bought out) he will tell Philly to trade him to whatever team he wants and take whatever they offer(ie don't get greedy else I will force you to buy me out and sign wherever I want)

I can only think of one team that is relatively close to Philadelphia that will view the way Briere's contract is structured is actually a positive. Most teams will just tell Briere, take the buyout then we will offer you X amount of so many years once your a UFA

I think most Flyers fans like Briere as a person. I've never heard a bad thing about him in that regard.

But he is declining offensively, and his cap hit is a pretty serious burden on the team now. I expect him to get amnesty'd, but I'm hoping he has success wherever else he goes.

He was like an anchor playing wing on the Schenn/Simmonds line.

Schenn was at a PPG pace 20 games into the season, then went pointless in 12 straight games when he was put with Briere. It really wasnt a coincidence.

he should come back to Buffalo.
Pegula bucks + pegula jet will give him enough time with the kids.

The season before this one, he was a 0.7ppg player, while that's obviously not amazing, I certainly think the quoted in bold is overly dramatic.

Not to mention he extended being great in the playoffs, which most teams would be considering when bidding for him anyhow.

Dealing with concussion issues this season may have something to do with his lack of production(admittedly, alongside his age) this year.

Briere scored 7 ES goals in 11 playoff games and was still -6. How is that even possible?

I could see the Islanders *trading* for him, but don't expect much in return.

It's kind of surprising when a still young player, has his game fall completely off a cliff.

Briere still looks like a kid, it would be easy to mistake him for still being young.
