Not surprised they want to keep the team out west. If you move them to QC then the whole realignment plan would eventually have to be scrapped and Detroit and/or Columbus would have to move back west.
Which makes me very happy.

I do love reading the BoH board right now, though...it seems a lot of Canadians are confusing Seattle for Baghdad.

I feel like I'd cheer for a Seattle hockey team as my Western team just because. That seems cool.

They feel like they're owed something when in reality they aren't. People took rumors from the Quebec media too seriously, that's why they feel heartbroken now. Bash Bettman all you want, but he made no promises to QC.

As for Seattle being the plan B for the Coyotes over QC, I saw this coming since they announced the new realignment format. No way are they going to have a 17/13 split between the Eastern Conference and Western Conference, and no way they are going to move one or both of Columbus and Detroit back to the Western Conference less than a year after putting them in the East. The NHL may say "we don't deal in hypotheticals," but c'mon - they aren't going to want to realign the conferences less than a year after it was already radically changed.

I always had a soft spot for the Sonics so I'll probably be in the same boat.

If it happens, I hope they use the Metropolitans name.

They need their own sense of manifest destiny. I'm Canadian (obviously), and I find some of the comments embarrassing. If/when another team relocates, it won't be because of how awesome a country Canada is - it will be because it makes sense.

Lived there for three years. Saw Peter Nedved several times as a T-bird stud (offensive only). Haven't lived there for awhile, but I'm not sure NHL would last there. But it's still probably more of a "hockey town" than Phoenix was when the 'yotes moved there.

Homer might have met his dumb move quota for the summer with the Streit signing.

I guess it is better to see how it plays out, but that seems like a lot for an almost over the hill defenseman.

It doesn't matter how well he plays. He is grossly overpaid.

Not to mention this makes no sense given the Flyers' cap situation.

This is an organization that is preparing to buyout Briere (apparently due to cap constraints), only to hand an absurd amount of money to Streit. So stupid.

I'd be all over a Seattle team, particularly if there was a rivalry with the Canucks (which I can only guess there would be). Nothing like another reason to cheer against Vancouver

if we think DB is an awful look what Hawks fans think of Coach Q, with the PP like that I don't blame them, 3 scoring chances on PP by Bruins, The Hawks best PP player Crawford

Did the Hawks have a PP that ran at 36% that was inexplicably changed to one that wasn't even as half as productive?

Didn't think so.

Isn't it better to have had a successful powerplay and lost it than never had a successful powerplay at all?

Just flipped over right as Boston scored. Heard the Hawks look worse than the Pens tonight? PP anyway.

Short 5 on 3 allows Boston to set up, Jagr with a great pass, Bergeron scores. 2-0 Boston.
