10-15 goals and 35-45 points. Hard to know what to expect. I would expect a similar output to last season, but as is the case with any player that enjoys a breakout season, they can easily endure a bit of a slump the following year.
Regardless, I think it's safe to assume he will be Montreal's number one defenseman, and will be used a lot on the PP. He's up there with Theodore and Koivu in terms of importance with the club.
Markov could get more goals. He slowed down during the second half since he logged a lot of ice time (more than ever) and kind of hit a wall. I think between 15-20 goals is not out of the question (though not likely to get the 20). He's still young and still improving. He didn't max out yet IMO so expect him to at least get over the 40pts mark.
My personal prediction: 16 goals, 32 assists (48pts).
I'm no homer, but I'm a huge Markov beleiver. He has the impressive aray of shots + hockey smarts and soft creative hands to dominate a la Gonchar some day, but probably not before 2-3 years (if he ever).
There's few players I'm high on in this year's roster (meaning I have great expectations), but he sure is one of them (for the record, the others are Garon, Ward, Ryder, Komo, Souray and Bulis).
