uh oh, Morton doesnt look like the Morton just before the injury he looks like the 7.00 + ERA morton. He used to have virtually an identical delivery to Roy Halladay when he was successful and it's not like that anymore right now.

Marte was scratched with a rib injury.

This might be a long night, but I'm holding out hope. Morton is probably my favorite Pirate. Hopefully we can get to Cain with a few dingers... in all likelyhood we will need another very good offensive effort to get the sweep. At the very least, hopefully Charlie can get us 6 innings, as the bullpen might get taxed on Saturday and there's no off day for a while yet.

The good sign with Morton is that his velocity is up. I expect a few pretty bad starts from him, but if he's able to work with Searage and he maintains this velocity (and his health), I think he'll stick.

WTF??

Sorry, not to be a homer, but that is an awful call on Alvarez.

Par for the course. Pirates get awful calls going the other way all the time, because they're a young team. ****ing *********.

I'm 100% sincere about this: Major League Baseball umpires deserve to get lynch mobbed. They are fundamentally incapable of doing their job... that's an easy call to make for a little league umpire.

It didn't matter if you had it on mute, the announcers had no idea what was going on either, one of the worst calls iv seen in a long time.

Well, I guess calls for irrational violence is all it takes to turn the luck tide.

What the heck was Pence doing?? Just hit the deck, he moved forward and braced himself for it.

Easy for me to say.....watching at home. That ball comes at you very quick off the bat.

Not that we CAN'T come back, but I wasn't holding out much hope for this game, right off the viewing of the starting pitchers. Cain vs. 1st time back from rehab, Charlie Morton, that's a mismatch.

Not a good night for Morton, but he showed some decent signs on which to build. Two of the runs were unearned and due to a BS call, but he was pretty wild at times.

We're going to lose, but we won the series. Hopefully white flag Zagurski can just eat as many innings as possible.

Welp, Zagurski's definitely one person that can be DFA'd to clear room on the roster and 40-man whenever this team gets healthy.

Not that it matters tonight (or usually), but how is he still here?

Man... Talk about flash back of the last 20 years of Bucco baseball.. I don't miss this kind of play on a nightly basis.

**** major league umps. The Pirates get 1 bad call in their favor for every 4 bad calls that go against them, it's ridiculous. And add to my anger that Hurdle gives up on a 4 run game by putting ******* Zagurski in. He doesn't belong on an MLB team. I've seen slow pitch softball pitchers who are more effective.

On the bright side, hopefully this is the last time we see Zagurski. Unless it is at an all you can eat wings night.

Charlie pitched much better than the stat line showed tonight, he got no bounces whatsoever. Not a single one of those hits save for Posey's GRD was even remotely solidly hit.

Was at the game tonight. Shame this is the first game I've been to in about a year. Couple close calls at first, horrible call on the rundown (well didn't see replay, but seemed bad), no offense, horrid pitching by Z, and an iffy outing by Morton. All in all a horrible game all around. Oh well, it was a nice night at least.
