I don't blame him... why can't you spell Luongo properly?

Or Emrey, for that matter?

I mean... you see people spell it Luongo, but you consistently type out Lulongo. Any particular hidden joke or something that we're all missing here?

There's a more fundamental reason why forwards and defensemen are picked more often ... there are more of them available. Goalies typically comprise less than 1/10 of any team's roster, so that means that you've got about 9 forwards and defensemen to pick from for every goalie.

Another aspect of the numbers game is that a team with an established #1 is far less likely to take another goalie with a pick, whereas if you have a superstar forward or defenseman you're still not going to hesitate to get another one if you have a chance.

Hahah...

Uhh.. Sens4Cup's Ottawa homerism is pretty apparent here. No way is Luongo for Chara straight up an even deal. Essentially they're both at the same level right now, but Luongo is younger and plays a more important position.

Then again, I think some people overrate Luongo sometimes. I wouldn't consider Luongo ( was Weiss in there too? ) for Chara, Spezza, AND Havlat a very good deal either.. All three are top-end players/prospects.

Luongo for Chara + Spezza/Havlat might make a bit more sense

You say it, a HOT goalie, not a great goalie.

They need there to be two Chara's to make it an even deal. You just don't let go of a goalie like Luongo...

Great post on hockey material....
What's the problem with pointing out how a guy spells his name? He obviously didn't know so i was helping him out.

as for ridiculous....again a favour, as it in fact looks ridiculous to imply someone else is being ridiculous and you go and mispell the adjective you are using to ridicule them.

Since these tedious matters are beneath you Splatrick-Flamesinyourcan, im sure you wont mind if i refer to you as such from now on. Unless of course you feel its "rediculous" and you think i should stop.
Afterall its not "hockey related".

luongo wins games for florida while emery will be a bust

hell, emery & chara for luongo is bad too, because as i said, luongo wins them games, while having chara would only help their defence, which isnt the biggest concern seeing as luongo doesnt need any defencemen to win games

I wouldn't trade Chara straight up for Luongo.

(i also would like to know why Emery will be a bust?)

Wouldn't this just put Florida in the pit all over again?
