iTunes Synching Problem

Alright, before syncing was easy.
I would turn on itunes, all my devices (iPhone and iPod) would display.

I could pick a device, say iPhone, and it would display allowing me to choose which apps and songs to sync.
This was great so I could manage the 16 GB.

All of my software is now up to date, but I am having problems.

1) In order for my devices to show, I have to manually connect it to the computer. No longer with wifi will it automatically show.

2) Even when connected, the menu seems to have changed. I can't click on "iPod" and see how much memory I have free and select what (apps/songs) to specifically sync.

3) So for the iPod (32 GB):
-It does sync, claims it is complete. Yet, while apps have been updated, NO music added.

4) For the iPhone (16 GB):
-It keeps telling me I need to clear 770 MBs. Usually this would be easy as I would just choose less songs. I also would choose fewer apps.
Now, I can't do either.

Has anybody else had this same problem with the current software on iTunes and the iPhone/iPod.
iTunes does need updated.
Could this be the reason?
If not, anything else?

It's because iTunes is the worst software ever made.

This is likely it.

can we turn this into the "please help people with itunes" thread?

my wife's ipod deleted everything last month. music, videos, podcasts, audiobooks: 99 gigs of stuff gone.

when she tried to reload it, the buggering itunes software gave her error messages ranging from "unknown problem" to http://www.techyv.com/questions/my-i...nnot-be-synced <-- that.

i restored it to factory. i ran virus scans on all of her music and videos. i used different cables. i updated itunes. i used old versions of itunes. it would allow me to load audiobooks. it would allow me to load videos. when it came to music, i had to load 12-15 songs at a time. i got about 35 gigs in today when it gave me the

http://www.techyv.com/questions/my-i...nnot-be-synced

error and when i went through the thing, there's nothing there. it's 100% empty.

anyone ever have this problem?

is it fixable? scratch that, is it fixable without me hitting it with a sledgehammer.

Yep, now it works.
I guess this is Apple's way of forcing you to update, they just c**k block you from doing anything.
