You're telling me you will be disappointed with Seth Jones ?

I know I won't ! Even if I'm the biggest MacKinnon fan around here and want the centerman.

Those 3 kids are just unreal !

Seth Jones is the Boss.

MacKinnon is the Warrior.

Drouin is the Magician.

Are you much into RPGs Ghoste ? Which class do you prefer ?

...

I hope I'm right too, but I'm not taking a lot of risks with those statements. I'm just going with the experts' general (near consensus) opinion ! I'm playing it safe this time.

Copy and paste one of these instead of the one I put. Try one with a lower resolution, the one I gave was the highest resolution and may be causing your stream to stutter.

This is the lowest resolution listed remember to paste it under "open network stream"

As I keep saying..

If the Avs shock everyone and select MacKinnon first, then Seth Jones "falls" to us and we walk away more than satisfied. We get a Jones who now has a chip on his shoulder the rest of his career because his childhood team / Sakic betrayed him.

We need both positions filled. A number one center and a number defenseman. We're going to fill one of them moving forward no matter what happens.

I'm an RPG fan. Love the analogy!

I think MacK is the berserker, Drouin is the magician, and Jones is the tank. All three are special.

The disappointment would be because I wanted Mac for a long time now, suffered thru the tank, etc. I think it would definitely take the wind out of my sails to hear the Avs take Mac. Nothing to do with Jones. You know?

I'll be the first to admit, I was a Jones hater at first. But after getting a small sample of his game, I am more than ok with Jones "falling" to us in the draft.

Jones could be a top 5 d-man in the NHL. Don't be too disappointed.

Great.

I didn't get it right the first time, but MacKinnon being the Berserker is an awesome find.

I got Seth right now.

I'm just like you buddy. Just like you.

I'm a MacKinnon fan since his 16-year-old season, went to a couple of his games and thought we wouldn't ever have a chance at a kid like him, because our team was playing great that year and starting to come out of the basement.

Then the apocalypse occurred and we had this disastrous season... But at the midway point I remembered one thing... It was Nate's draft year...

So yeah I'm pretty pumped up about MacKinnon possibly being a Panthers. And I believe he will be.

Agreed. Its not like we couldnt use Jones lol. Plus, we could always find that #1 center through future draft picks. We are not a sure thing to make the playoffs next season by any means, and 2014 is another great year for centers. Plus Bjugstad might become capable of that role. We can't lose. I prefer MacKinnon, but would be happy with Jones also. I still expect the Avs to take Jones though. Its not like Jones has been underwhelming in this tourney, he's played well.

Both American, both defensemen, both had big world junior tournaments, both were projected as the top player in the draft, and Jones will probably be picked over more talented forwards. If MacKinnon goes #1 to the Avs, then I hope the Panthers take Drouin. I want no part of Jones.

Im curious, how much of Jones have you actually SEEN? He is definitely not EJ 2.0.

The hastiness of so many people to generalize defensemen boggles my mind. Every prospect is different. The only useful point you made there is that both had big world juniors. And even then, is it better that MacKinnon didnt have a big world junior?

I see him as a very similar player to EJ from what I've seen of him. Sure he could be the next Pronger, but unfortunately I see more Erik Johnson in him than Pronger. At best, he'll be another J-blow

MacKinnon didn't have a good world junior because was stuck with 4th line duty/benched. Steve Spott took that absolutely stacked Canadian team and couldn't even get a medal out of it, ending our medal streak at 14 years. I wouldn't read too much into MacKinnon's WJC performance with Spott at the helm. He couldn't motivate drunk 18 year old boys to go to a strip club, let alone a hockey team to accomplish anything. I'd say Jones is a "safer" pick, but MacKinnon is a true gamebreaker.
