Who will replace Prospal in Tampa???

Will it be Svitov or Somervuori or someone else who gets a shot at the prime minutes available??

Can these players make an impact??

Unless you are privy to some inside trade information, I think you must mean Svitov, because Frolov is a LA King.

Cory Stillman. Except for last year he's got equal/slightly better numbers than Prospal, and plays better defense. Could turn out to be a nice upgrade.

Yes, it'll be Stillman on Vinny's left side. The RW is still up for grabs.

I noticed a lot of people cite "they lost Prospal" when predicting a Bolts slump this year. It makes me chuckle, not like we didn't replace him.

I think Somervuori will make an impact regardless of what line he plays on.

If he makes the team, he might very well make an impact.

More cuts tonight, so we'll see.

"Tampa Bay Lightning acquired left wing Cory Stillman from the St. Louis Blues for a 2003 second-round draft pick."

Seems to me a lot of people forget/didnt hear about this trade. Stillman is a consistant 20+ goals, 50 point player.

Edit: hit the 6 key instead of the 5

Stillman and consistent in the same sentence. What's going on here?

stillman's past numbers are better because his career has reached its potential, scoring 25 or so goals even while getting time with some outstanding linemates.

stillman will not REPLACE prospal, he will fill in and provide decent numbers at the end of the year.

around february bolt fans will be thinking, "now i know why two teams have given up on a 20+ goal scorer." very inconsistent.

with enough decent goal-scoring in tampa, may not be as much of an issue say as it was in calgary. and true he's not terrible defensively.

NO ONE can replace Prospal, if you want the truth. It still upsets me that we lost this guy, the first to really stick with Lecavalier. Not to mention that Prospal's personality will be missed badly, at least by me, he's a very charismatic player.

Stillman is a more than adequate replacement, and lack of consistency isn't dealt with kindly by our coach, so good luck to him if he wants to slack off. Having someone who has potted 20+ goals several times on Vinny's wing will be a nice change.

Losing Prospal leaves a void, but not as big a void as some people seem to think. It's being given too much attention, by far.

as soon as they got stillman i knew that prospal was gone. Stillman may not be as skillful as prospal but he will "replace" him.

It's time for Alexeev to stand up this season because I'm losing my patience (I like players with big frames). I'm not saying he must pot 70 points but a little bit more offense would be nice.

Yes, it certainly would be! Alexeev is a frustrating one.

Somervuori got sent to the AHL today, BTW.

Alexeev will be a good one. Immediate filler is stillman who played well with Prince Vinny in the past.
