Once Thomas realized that we have universal health care, he'd be outta there so fast...

What do they need to "speak to the Isles" about? Debating over a 6th or a 7th rounder?

I wouldn't count Thomas out just yet, this guy has defied the odds many times over. He always has a chip on his shoulder, and is always determined to prove the doubters wrong. It would not shock me to see him sign on with a team in the offseason and be a top-10 goaltender in this league still. I wish him the best, I just hope he signs in the Western Conference..

Since it would cost the isles a 2nd rounder to Boston, if he plays, I doubt Snow has any interest in trading Thomas anywhere for a 6th or 7th rounder.

Not a bad idea, but Thomas has way too much pride to even consider it

NO! Send over Nabakov, and I'd be happy.

Mind you, he'd be happy in his political views with Harper (little Romney/Bush).

Thomas would be a great fit anywhere. The idea that he sucks now because he took a year off is laughable. He was one of the best in the league before this year. He'd be a tremendous upgrade to any teams No. 2 spot and possibly a very good starter too. Leafs make a lot of sense. If it doesn't work out, you have a backup plan.

Wouldnt the Leafs be better off using that same money on upgrades at defense??

Reimer played pretty well........

I don't think he would be expensive and he would probably be there to backup Reimer. if he works out well and becomes #1 that's a bonus. What's the risk?

The UFA market for defense is terrible this year. I'd rather the Leafs use money on a goalie like Thomas than spend even more money on a player like Streit.

Why? TT wouldn't be brought in to be a starter. He would be brought in to mentor Reimer. After his amazing playoffs (and he was great), I don't see Toronto bringing in someone to replace Reimer (or to even push him). But neither does Toronto need another young goalie. They should be looking for an older guy like TT (or someone like him - aka more experienced than JR) who would be an asset to JR.

Maybe Jose Theodore could fit the bill. Again, you're not looking for a #1 starter, but someone who's gone through the bumps and can help the kid.

I rather not see Tim Thomas become a Maple Leaf because I can't see him getting back into game shape after taking a season off. Besides that after the stuff that went down with him during the 2011-2012 season and his personal beliefs, I'm not sure he would be a good fit in the Leafs locker room.

I'd be down for this. Then i'd hope for a TOR/BOS rematch in the playoffs next year.

Kessel and Thomas vs Seguin and Rask

One game makes an entire career? Was Reimer the only Leaf on the ice or were there 5 others who couldn't clear the zone?

Well, it didn't take long for someone to call out Reimer's playoff performance. I especially like how you ignored that he stood on his head the previous 2 games, and it was far from just his fault that we blew a 4-1 lead.

Let me guess, you didn't even watch the series?

When it comes to someone like TT, you're not paying him to be an upgrade on Scrivens on the ice, but an upgrade off the ice.

At first I was like **** that, but now I realize that he'd be a perfect mentor for reimer as they are both very religious. I like it. But duct tape his mouth when he's around everyone else
