Don't know when players names get released, I imagine it will be soon. Camp is scheduled for last weekend in August/Sept. Labor Day in Calgary. Hockey Canada Winsport Complex. (as far as I know suffered no damage from the recent flooding)

I'd want to see how dirty and skilled a top-6 we could make, with centres moving to the wing.

i.e.

Tavares - Crosby - Stamkos

Nash - Giroux - Hall

Mouthwatering.

It won't be memorabilia-Classic Rock-power house that wins it.

But a vision where hockey will be in one year, proven players who can adjust when a game is on the line, that delivers under certain circumstances and on a frequent basis.

So, start with Crosby, Toewes and Bergeron. Tavares and Giroux should be locks. Hall have huge potential and should be interresting to follow. Getzlaf should be a part of the puzzle as well.

Is Boyle out of the discussion?

Letang - Doughty
Wideman - Weber
Seabrook - Keith

It's true... no country can make 5 teams that are that good.
It's so hard even make the summer camp roster. Let alone the olympic team.

Yes that i probably can agree on. It's probably easier to make any other olympic squad than it is to make canadas summer orientation camp. The goalies for USA and Finland might be the only exceptions.

I think we don't have bad goalies. The only problem I see is we just don't have a Vezina contender like Lundqvist. But you're right. Boy, I wish we had a long-time Vezina contender!!

Religious King fan here reminding of you 2 realistic dark horses for team canada:

JEFF CARTER: 3rd in the league in goals last year, Big forward, plays all 3 positions in all situations. Clutch Performer leading the lead in GWG's and his speed and wrist shot are world class. Not to mention his responsible play defensively. He's completely healthy and has put his partying ways behind him. He came into this kings season in great shape and continues to be a force in this league.

JONATHAN BERNIER: It's no secret that after Price... Canada's goalie squad is a little uncertain. You'll see what us kings fans see in Bernier with the exposure he'll get in Toronto... don't be surprised if he throws himself into the conversation this year. Bernier has won at every level and I see him making a case. Again, don't be surprised when his name gets kicked around for the 3rd goalie spot. I'll even go as far to say that the kings win the cup in 2012 with Bernier in net as well. Bern is the real deal.

Canadian Olympic Roster

Seeing as the NHL will in fact be going to Sochi, I figured we should start looking at the Canadian roster and line combinations.

Nash-Crosby-Stamkos
Tavares-Toews-Giroux
Staal-Getzlaf-Perry
Richards-Bergeron-Thornton

On the bubble: Hall, Eberle, Benn, Couture, Sharp, St.Louis, Marleau, Neal.

I wouldn't be completely shocked if Douin-Stamkos-St.Louis have a great start to the year and get consideration, as well as Kunitz-Crosby-Neal.

Letang-Weber
Keith-Seabrook
Staal-Doughty

On the bubble: Subban, Green, J. Schultz, Bouwmeester, Phaneuf, Boyle, Pietrangelo, Hamhuis.

Price
Luongo

On the bubble: Ward, Brodeur, Fleury, Smith, Crawford, Dubnyk.

I will add and edit as suggestions come in.

Marleau.

He was 3rd in ice time among the 2010 gold-medal Olympian forwards playing both the powerplay and penalty kill as well as third line.

Note: Marleau is still one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, certainly the fastest on the Sharks.
