Snack bars are open at every arena and Gatineau and Ottawa West even have licensed bars. Some of the rural arenas have the best poutine and hot chocolate (Metcalfe). Heck you can even buy fresh bakery bread at Clarence's arena. There is a charge to get into the games - I believe $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Most teams have 50/50 draws that they run during the games.
I hope this answers your question.

Metcalfe may have better luck playing against OJC tonight due to the sudden departure of starting goaltender Matt Couvrette. Rumour has it that he has quit the team. Does anybody know why? Or where he is going?
I pretty much agree with the all the rest of your picks except I pick Casselman 4 - 2 over Winchester.

Perth/Arnprior

Good game for Arnprior after being down 3-1 after the first and winning 6-5. Boards were not as lively last night as they have been. They looked new and perhaps the visitors were able to adjust more quickly as a result.

Perth's top line clearly missed Pearson but I think he is gone to Kemptville for the rest of the season so they will need to adjust.

Perth's D seem to be lacking compared to last year. If Perth is going take a serious run at things this year, they will need to get some vet D men in...only two of them are Jr. B caliber right now, but they are young so perhaps they will turn it around on their back end.

Mr. MacLean has done a great job with the rink, the heat was on from the start of the game to the end. The seating is very good....300 plus was the announced attendance and they had an excellent pregame ceremony for Remembrance Day. Very respectful and dignified.

Are you sure about Pearson? He was on Perth's roster last night and didn't play in Kemptville.

Arnprior also has licensed bar and licensed drinking area in stands.

I disagree. it's tough to choose MVP based solely on stats when there is such disparity between the two divisions. Rodier, Barr, Kilrea and Gotzman would all be putting up similar or higher numbers if they payed in the RSL division. Widenmaier got 12 points in just three games against Morrisburg. I can only imagine how the Metro Boys would do in similar circumstances.

Agreed, and if you are looking at the stats, the top point getter from the Metro Valley division is averaging 2.62 points per game and the top man in the Rideau St. Lawrence league is averaging 2.35 points per game.

No, I am not sure about Pearson, just working off the rumour mill and from "not so informed sources" but generally they are not too bad for reliability.

Maybe just wishful thinking on my part, that Pearson will not be Perth but in a whole other league !!!

Nothing regarding Pearson being traded in the CCHL, according to the website. Should be a good game in Almonte tonight as they take on the Royals. May make Perth's match up tomorrow a little easier.

Could have some sluggish players tomorrow as Cabin is hosting Shawville tonight as their town at the bar and a big fundraiser for the Nugent family will also be going on. I would take a lot of players will be heading down for that.

I have to agree to that the St.lawrence and Rideau divisions are really top heavy. When you have a team that has yet to one win, you cannot take them serious. If any player from the metro/valley top scoring were to head over they would put up 100+ points. No disrespect to the players in those divisions but their division does not really compare in skill level and you see that in the playoffs, where the metro/ valley final usually decides who will be the champ of the EOJHL.

Those stats are completely skewed because of teams like Morrisburg and to a lesser extent Akwesasne.

-----------------------------------------------------

Hope to see a lot of this board's members out at the Fill The Rink for Brett initiative in Perth on Friday night. Good cause for a player in unfortunate circumstances.

--------------------------

Re: Couvrette not too sure what's going on with that situation, but if he has left for good I know that there's a certain Stittsville affiliate (Salomon) that looked perfectly at home in Jr. B the other night against OW. Plenty of good goaltending options from other EOJHL teams and the CCHL for GM John Hill to find if Couvrette has in fact left the team.

Tonight's also an intriguing matchup in Almonte, as the hot Thunder host an injury-riddled Stittsville team coming off of a demoralizing loss at Ottawa-West Thursday.

I've seen every Valley team this season, and I seriously think that if Plaschy gets hot Almonte has as good a chance as anyone to win the Valley.

Suspended

Does anyone know why Stittsville's Assistant Coach: Gio Falsetti shows up as suspended on every game sheet since the beginning of the season? Is this a carry over from last season?

I think he may have been suspended for the entire season due to his comments toward his former team on facebook. I know he was suspended for that reason but I cannot remember if it was for the full season. The former coaching staff of the wings last year were warned from the league about any comments that they may make toward the wings after some words had been said on social media sites. Then I believe Gio said something again and was suspended. That is my understanding from other sources.

Saloman would be a great pickup, and he is at Carleton so here for at least 3 more years.

Looking at Pointstreak, it says that Gio Falsetti has 5 games left on his suspension. Looks like he will be back by the end of the month. If you count the games Stittsville has played (15) plus the 5 games left, looks like he received a 20 game suspension.

Big win last night for the Royals , seem to be figuring things out.
Packers look like they are getting back on track.
Timberwolves seem confused.
Thunder up and down.
Pontiac heading in the right direction.

Valley is up for grabs !

Valley

I think Renfrew will figure it out soon enough. They have had many players through so I would start to think that cards are getting tight and they will not have any room for additional changes.

Not sure if the Packers are back yet, gave up 40 plus shots again. Today against CCreek will be a another must win if the Packers want to keep some distance on top of the standings.

Shawville does not have the depth on D to challenge yet, but maybe they will find a few additions before it is too late.

Stittsville and Almonte are for real, and Perth has the same problem as Shawville with a weak D corpse.

Valley will be interesting for the next few weeks but IMO the separation will start by mid December.

Valley

My take on Valley Teams:
Arnprior: Hardest working team, but young
Renfrew: Most talent overall but not hardest workers
Perth: Best forward line in division and defense is questionable
Stittsville: Best top 4 defense in division, need offense
Almonte: Basically a one line team
Shawville: Need defense

Best F: ZR,BB, DA
Best D: JN, KAM
Best G: EM
Top rookie (16/17): JL

Agree with everything you said, I'd add LM to the best F and best goalie IMO is DP
