I think it'll come down to Eakins or AV, for Dallas.

Seriously.

We were robbed of Satan playing with the Devils, so this is the next best thing.

Make it happen, GM Nill!

Born in the states, grew up in Canada. Lives primarily in Canada but spends some time in Arizona during the off season.

His wife is a Canadian actress from London ON, with ties to Vancouver.

I see Dallas as the best fit. Vancouver second.
Wants to be a head coach so the Oilers aren't a great fit. NY and Vancouver probably will want a higher profile guy.

His wife does have some connection to Vancouver.

It would be nice to have Eakins in Vancouver he could be useful for Jensen, Schroeder, Guance and a few other prospects. Maybe Booth will be on his game since hes somewhat young and this is if he is in Vancouver. Tanev and Corrado would go well with Eakins and also Vancouver is planning on getting younger.

I think Dallas is the best fit, they have a young core with a lot of rookies that will be playing in the lineup and he's known as a great development coach

Rangers will probably pass.

How good could he be if Dolan never heard of him?

Love to see him in Vancouver, but I got a feeling he's sign with Dallas.

NHL.com/TSN.com's pun generators would be in overdrive. I voted for Dallas just for that

Realistically I could see him going to Edmonton as an assistant coach to get some NHL coaching experience before jumping to a head coaching job right away. He won't coach the Rangers. For whatever reason I see A.V. coaching that team as well as Torts going to Vancouver.

IMO he would go to Edmonton if they had drafted Seguin, Landeskog and Murray.

Dallas Eakins has been an assistant coach in the NHL before and has previously said that he has no plans of becoming an assistant coach again.

The job he has been offered in Edmonton is an associate coach which is different from an assistant coach. He'd be more of a "co-coach" than an assistant to Kruger in Edmonton.

I wish he would stay in Toronto to continue developing our young players but he is a fantastic coach and if he wants to be head coach of an NHL team he deserves that. If so it will be tough losing him.

Hopefully not Vancouver. I don't want the Leafs to be responsible for helping the Canucks improve in any way.

Associate Coach is like the Executive Chef title. Both are fancy descriptions for someone who is the second-in-command to the guy calling the shots.

I said NYR, so I'll stick with that.

I also think maybe no one 2013-14, but will be somewhere else 14-15

If it goes the full 3 years (VERY doubtful), he will not re-up.

Please be Dallas, clearly that is where he was born to coach.

All signs point to it. He was destined.

Homer voted Marlies. I don't want Eakins to leave

I really hope he goes to Dallas though.

1. His name is Dallas, and Cody Eakin plays for the team

2. It's a Western conference team

3. They have a good group that requires a bit more tweaking and I think Eakins can do well with a good, up and coming young group

Worst case scenario for me is him going to the Canucks or an Eastern team.

And he's definitely not going to be an associate for Edmonton. Dallas was already an assistant for the Leafs a while back, and he said he wants to be a head coach in this league. I know assistant and associate aren't the same, but either way he won't be the main guy at the helm, and I think he wants that free reign.
