Montreal Looking at Xavier Ouellet

Take it with a grain of salt, it's not a great source, but I figured I'd post it for discussion, if nothing else.

http://www.danslescoulisses.com/site...-au-point.html

Don't see Detroit giving up Ouellet unless it's for something VERY good.

Please don't tell me that they only want to acquire him because of his name...

XO is our Frenchie.

Hands off, Montreal.

Although, they could have him for Alex Galchenyuk if they really want him.
(I am not advocating this as a trade offer, just stating that I'm not interested at all in moving Ouellet and it would take an absolute no-brainer to make me change my mind.)

The Wings are very high on him. I can't see them moving him unless it's as part of a package to bring in a top-pairing defenseman.

Markov + Nashville 2nd for Detroit 1st + Ouellet.

In unrelated news , Timmins (Head scout Montreal) mentioned in an interview it wouldn't be too costly to trade up our 1st round pick and mentioned the draft choice #17 - which was Detroit's.

Sorry he is part of Detroit future D corp and were not interested in moving him, Unless it's for a major upgrade on defense or something like that.

The problem with Montreal trading for French-canadian players is that other GMs will set the price very high so it's likely to be a poor trade for Montreal.

Detroit's is #18 actually.

But just to chime in, I couldn't turn down that offer faster. I wouldn't do Markov+2nd for Ouellet alone.
