Seriously though, what happened in this game? I'm just reading the boxscore and the penalties are a little crazy. Aside from the fights... Ehlers with a roughing double minor, and Zykov with high-sticking double minor?
It was a near line brawl after the Weegar hit. Not sure why Ehlers got a double minor... but it was Langille after all.

And Zykov had a nice little two-hander to Lewis's face (drawing blood).

A few highlights from tonight's game via John Moore. Mostly fights, lol, with some ridiculous saves from Fucale.

Also, those new sweaters are really slick.

I brought my daughter to her first hockey game tonight and it didn't disappoint. 2-1 Mooseheads win with a long shootout and lots of fights. She is 1 years old and passed out in the 3rd period and overtime. But she woke just as the 10 round shootout started.

Haha, how are they more Christmasy than their regular red and green sweaters? If anything, I'm glad they toned down the Santa factor on these ones.

I'm just glad they clued in and put white numbers on the back of these ones. The green numbers on the red sweaters look nice enough in person but are really hard to pick up on TV. I'd love for these to become their new regular home sweaters for that reason alone.

I also like the new jersey and want to get one.

If I were to change one thing though, I would have used cream instead of the white.

I don't really know why. I took a second look and I guess it's all the green on them. I'm usually like change but they just don't strike me as nice lol

Jerseys are slick. If we could just rebrand the logo I'd be very happy.

It was also nice to see that Baie Comeau is still a gutless team. Gregoire and Imama were out of control last night. Always nice to get the win over them.

Fucale was spectacular as was the Drakkar goaltender. Weegar and Murphy were awesome last night. It seems Murphy's issue at the start of the season was nothing more than dead legs opposed to poor conditioning. I also liked Alcalde last night, he had a lot of energy and was all over BC forechecking and backchecking.

It's nice to see the team is gelling better. The breakouts are much cleaner and the puck is being cycled way better compared to opening night.

Drakkar are certainly a scrappy team... Imama and gregoire were noticeable, for the wrong reasons... No one challenged or acted out against Lewis tho... hmmm.

I was certain he'd get his nine games.

Wow.

This season just got a whole lot more interesting.

Any idea if he'll be in the line up against the Dogs in Saint John Tuesday night?

I'd keep an eye on the Mooseheads' twitter feed for news on when he'll enter the lineup. That's where most of us get our news anyway, lol.

Drouin as our number one centre... we have got some serious depth.
He is just going to flat out murder the rest of the league, and probably dominate at the WJC as well.

Edit: Even though I'm up for another championship run now, I still hope this results in Ciampini getting traded. There is no further need of him in our top-6, so if we can get anything for him, I'll be happy.

I hear Bobby Smith doesn't want to trade Ciampini... I would, with our two best forwards coming back these next two weeks (Drouin, Ashley) this team becomes very deep, and really Ciampini is expendable. We have scorers, energy players and centers now, so trade Ciampini for a defenseman to replace Duke... Which in case everyone forgot, is our 4th 1993 player.

Lotta options, hope we go for it again, cuz I know we can.

Although it may be unfortunate for Jonathan , he'll be there next season I'm sure, it's a great turn of events for Halifax. They just got the best player in the league inserted into their lineup.

Well good news for Halifax fans and Q fans but I'm surprised they did not kept him for 9 games and return him after.

I'm very surprised, but Tampa's new coach is bringing his top line from the AHL to be his 3rd line so it just didn't leave any room. Even Connolly was cut and he was reportedly the biggest standout in camp

Agree with everyone on Ciampini, though I will say he had a decent game last night, best I've seen from him in a while. I'm hoping the top 9 ends up

Ehlers-Drouin-Ashley
Ryan-Andrews-Falkenham
Ciampini-Moynihan-Meier

Could definitely move Ciampini and put C.Moynihan in his spot but injuries happen so might be best to have C.Moynihan in a 10th forward type role

The team will be carrying 15 forwards come October 11th though so I think something will have to give

We already have Duke's replacement right up the road-Cavan Fitzgerald
He was a shoot out legend during our training camp and has scored the last 3 goals for Summerside!!!
Lets bring him back from PEI and sure up our D-line.

After the events of last night, it sure was a boring game. The crowd sucked and the team was equally as bad. Sloppy passes, silly mistakes, bad pinches, and no finish. Especially Ryan, who's head was in la-la land tonight.

As for lines...

Drouin/Andrews/Ehlers
Ashley/D. Moynihan/Meier
Ryan/C. Moynihan/Falkinham
Chiampini/Shewfelt/Lindsay
Alcalde, Watt

Weegar/Murphy
Lewis/Hardie
Lussier/Lovell
Jaques

Settle down there Mr. Fitzgerald....

They already have his replacement in Lovell.

Excitement aside...

I really hate that they laid such an egg against Sherbrooke. This is a team that they should've beat easily. It's understandable that they're tired and banged up after last night's game, but this is a team that will need every win it can get and it couldn't afford to crap out this afternoon.

Very surprised that Darveau didn't get the start. It's a lot to ask of Fucale that he stand on his head in a shootout last night and then play another full game 16 hours after the last one ended.
