The league could break off talks with the NHLPA, offer a salary cap of $31 million and refuse to negotiate until the union accepts, the Sun reported.

Good luck with that in labor court.

Which is what they would have preferred to do from the beginning, no doubt. There's just that little pesky "good faith" thing to worry about.

The NLL is looking like the only game in town. The lacrosse final was a pretty good ride. Bettman has single handedly destroyed my favorite sport and will go down, in my book, as a greedy little snot, in perpetuity and infamy. SSSSSSS.

Recently a friend died of the big C, (not Lindros). She had staved off elimination once before but she could not hold out this time. She was a huge Kings fan. Her son was named after Kelly Hrudy. Kelly is about as sweet a youngster as you can imagine. A hockey player and fan. She spent the last months of her life without the game she loved. That is just wrong. These kind of things are happening all around the hockey world. Is it time to fold the tent? Bettman thinks so. He stinks. Rest in peace Julie, we remember you fondly, and we also remember the game you loved.

I'm still with the owners. The players don't seem to realize that a very small % of sports fans give a crap about hockey. The fact that we love the game doesn't translate into big tv rev for the league. Players want 5.6.7.8.9+ mil a year , not a chance with the majority of their revs coming from the gate. Would you spend even more for your seats? Try taking a family of 3 or 4 to a game with out spending $250 a game right now. The game was almost unwatchable as it was, with a the trapping and no offense. The game better change some if they want any *new* fans, open it up some imo.

Sorry about your friend guz, I'm sure hockey would have brought some relief from all the crap she went through.

I have a bad feeling that the last Kings game we ever saw.. We blew in the last minute against San Jose..

But IF hockey does come back.. that should be LA's #1 goal. Get revenge against SJ for that loss..
