As in cap hit? No way. Henrique will get paid more than Fayne. You think Henrique gets signed for $1.3 million a year?

There's no way Henrique gets $1.3 million a year after 67 points in 117 games compared to Fayne's 31 points in 139 games.

Two years of NHL experience of a mostly shutdown (A very good one though) defensemen vs two years of NHL experience and a Calder nominee. The only thing Fayne has is he played 22 more games in his first two years because of the lockout that took out half of Henrique's sophomore season.

Many people here thought Fayne would get over $2 million on this contract. I said around $1.8 probably. He wound up getting $1.3 million a year.

Henrique will get a contract similar to what Bryan little got a few years ago, imo. He had a great year followed by a bit of a disappointment, so I would expect around 2 million a year for a couple years

Yeah $2 million I can see. I don't really think anything lower than that. $2-$2.5 million a year. Part of me thinks $3 million, but the other part of me thinks no way in hell.

I had him penned in for $3 million a year on his next contract last Summer. I really didn't think the NHL was dumb enough to lockout again, and I also thought he'd have a bit better of a season. He was on pace to have a really good season too right after he came back from injury. Had 6 points I think in his first 8 games back.

Parise got a little over $3 million a year on his second contract. After two full NHL seasons. One decent rookie year of like a little over 30 points, and then a 30+ goal season the next year, and he was coming off a good playoffs with a point per game average in 06-07 right before that contract. You figure in inflation from 2007 to now. Henrique probably deserves a bit less than $3 million right now.

How many more years could we have signed Lokti while still keeping his RFA at the end?

Would have preferred more then a year here for Lokti.

I posted an article last week showing all the comparables for Henrique

I say he gets 2 years, $4.5 million total.

Yikes! I meant Clarkson's. My bad. That's what you get for posting while doing other things, I guess.

He doesn't have Gomez's ability to carry the puck up ice, which was Gomez's signature ability.

Not as good a puck carrier, better finisher.

But their creativity is similar.

Still is his only ability. Was very surprised to see the Sharks 2nd PP unit depend on his skating for entry into the zone. Larry's influence I'm sure.

Haha it's okay, no problem! I actually wouldn't be surprised if he got a cap hit like the one Clarkson had on this last contract.

But he has heart, at least from what I've seen so far. I hope Lokti can develop a little broader skillset, but I like him already too.

This is a good move by Lou, if true.

Sign him for one year, see how he does, and if he has a stellar full season (), sign the boy to a multi-year deal.

Also love how we have this to look forward to down the middle next season:

Zajac
Henrique
Loktionov
Bernier/Gionta

All under 30 years of age, as well.

Yeah it's been 48 hours already. Not exactly sure what the holdup is, but honestly I didn't expect the RFA's to be taken care of first anyway.

I don't recall Bernier playing any center the last two years. You mean Carter?

Bettman said signing a player we traded for and releasing the news before the 5th violates the "spirit" of the CBA and he'll dock us a 3rd round pick.

Great move. If Henrique and Zajac bounce back (which the latter showed signs of at the end of the year) our center depth will be great.
