I'm going!

Can't wait. Was more disappointed about the cancelled Winter Classic last season, than the entire bloody lockout.

I was more disappointed in the ticket prices! Won the lottery last year, check the prices, and then asked around if anybody wanted me to get them tickets.

At least the game will be against a divisional rival now

It would be ridiculous if they didn't accommodate 115,000 people by providing public transport to the game. Were driving down but were planning on parking the car and leaving it parked until we leave.
There is no public transportation here except for buses and the People Mover, which is basically a circular monorail in downtown Detroit. There MAY possibly be special rail service on the planned SEMCOG commuter rail, but they've been promising that for three years now so I wouldn't count on it. This is, paradoxically if not surprisingly, one of the most sprawling and multipolar yet car reliant metro areas in the world.

The drive isn't that bad, it's a straight shot on a highway. The parking situation in Ann Arbor will be pretty fine, too, people just charge you like $5 to park on their lawns.

Would of loved to get tickets but will be away for work still. Will have to settle for watching the game at midnight over here, gotta love the different time zones as made watching the NHL playoffs this year a real treat..

Email window obtained. Offer declined.

What a joke of an expense that would be, to be cold as *******.

Have fun, kids, I'm way to old for that crap now! GO LEAFS GO!

I'm heading down with a bunch of friends on the 31st and saying right in Ann Arbor at the Holiday Inn. Hopefully we can find a good New Year's Eve party somewhere! I've been scouring the internet for details on what's available in case we need tickets for something. Has anybody been there before and know of some good bars?

Winter Classic 2014 Tickets!

Got an email earlier today from mlse!

"Your name was selected in the contest draw and you have been awarded the opportunity to purchase up to 4 ticket packages!"

Ill be honest though at first I thought I won 4 free tickets and realized it was just to purchase haha. Either way still happy and SO EXCITED!!!!!

Did anyone else get the email as well? And who else is planning on going?

Was really excited about attending a winter classic before the NHL announced they'll have like 8 outdoor games a year. Still really cool but it definitely lost some its appeal for me.

I view it as one Winter Classic: the ONE (Tor-Det), the rest are just mere outdoor games, nothing very special.
