Peter Mueller

Simple: Did he do enough to earn another contract? If so, what length of term?

Secondary question: Does he even fit into Tallon's long-term plans?

I would like him back on a 2-3 year deal.

I think he could fit into Tallons' plans. He's young, skilled and isn't a small guy.

IMO, if he can regain his playing form before the concussion(s), he can be a top 6 guy for a good amount of teams.

I'd like him back as well. He definitely has skill and I really like his hustle.

Don't see any reason why he shouldn't come back.

Simple answer: Yes, at least 1 yr but probably 2-3 yr deal
Secondary answer: Yes for the time being because we are weak organizationally at RW

As long as it isn't anything over 2 years and 3-3.25, he was a total no-show during the 2nd half.

True, but to be fair, 80% of the team was a no show in the 2nd half. ....

I know he's not on Horton's skill level, but he's close. Much cheaper too with a better attitude.

Keep him.

I definitely want him back. As long as he stays healthy of course. He plays with a lot of effort and produces on a decently consistent effort. His price tag wouldn't be even close to astronomical either. I probably wouldn't want him on no more than three-year deal and see where the future takes him.

Like soupy im not crazy about him. He disappears for many games at a time like versteeg and he is too soft like fleischmann. But he is good in shootouts. Meh.

give him a 2-3yr deal and see what he does when we have some more talent added to the team. He had good chemistry with Huberdeau.

I like him too, but for the right price. I really wouldn't give him more than 2 years.

He was great to start the season but was horribly inconsistent throughout the season. Long stretches without goals or points. Still, a lot of our team struggled offensively so maybe a full season will do him better.

He was decent in his first bounce back year. Potentially good reward for a cheap contract. A Tallon style, and particularly Panthers style, contract. Most of the team mailed it in the 2nd half so no foul.

2 years, 2.25 per.

What kept him out of the lineup late in the season?

His wife's pregnancy! (and the team was going nowhere with losses actually helping us with the Draft)

IIRC Dineen just plain scratched him near the end after moving him to play in the bottom6.

Given the fact the Panthers didn't qualify him it clearly means they believe he will get more than his automatic 5% raise on his contract last season. By not qualifying him they avoid arbitration which could screw them over in the end $ wise. Given the chemistry Mueller had with Huby as well as the fact the team is rather slim at RW it would be great to have him back. The question is just how much $ teams are throwing at him on the open market now.

I wouldn't give him more than 2M. He was OK, but not great, and we could potentially sign a better RW maybe even for cheaper. I wouldn't mind him back, but if he is seeking more than 2M, he can go somewhere else.

I agree with you.

Though in the end I believe that Mason Raymond is probably the only RW option that could be had at that kind of money and just maybe Boyes. All the other options are either worse, or getting more than 2M.

I'd be very interested in Raymond if I were DT. He still has some potential and surely has something to prove. I think he can be regain his ~50pt form if given top 6 minutes.
