not gonna happen. he already has a cup and he still has made some solid moves. just because it doesnt pan out in one year doesnt mean you get fired.

put it this way... if Holmgren still has a job in Philly, there is no way on earth Shero deserves the axe

Gave up little ... brought in several big names who usually perform and allowed them to fill supporting roles. Firing him after this season would be asinine.

He changed the team from a fast skilled team, to a team built in the image of the Bruins but no one bullies the Bruins

Im glad to know its not just poile who is the target of your misguided dislike.

for those who remember Ray Shero was the hottest commodity in the GM market the summer he went to the Pens... a job he chose after declining the Boston job(I cnat remember if he actually interviewed in Boston then declined the job or declined the invite to interview, but I distinctly remember him picking Pittsburgh over Boston

He did a great job bringing in some great talent this season.

When Sydney Crosby doesn't have 1 point in the playoff series, you cant blame the GM at that point.

I love Poile; I think we are closer to CBJ over the past ten years without him and Trotz. Stay the course; I think our team looks pretty good 2+ years out.

The genius of the Pittsburgh organization is not so much who they draft, but how they prepare and coach the prospects in their system - after the draft. Ironically, much the same can be said about the Preds and D-men especially.

So I would not go for Shero.

Im guessing since Shero just got Malkin locked up long term for below market his job is pretty safe, as obviously is Dan Bylsma's...

Here's the thing about Shero; he's done some great things yes, but let's be honest, he was still handed Crosby and Malkin on a platter. Not sure I trust him starting from scratch (meaning without offensive stars already present)

well, he helped Poile start from scratch here, but your point is kinda moot, or at the very least will be unprovable for another 8-12 years unless he gets fired
