I see some people suggesting he will get close to Josi, thats crazy McDonagh is a top 10 Dman in this league already and can dominate a game/season offensively or defensively to his liking. Just my two cents.
Well that's just plain silly.

McD I don't think will get that because it's not common you get that if you don't throw some sexy offensive numbers on the table.

If there is 1 player who I think will be ready to take the jump it is Lindberg. His game is so polished. He is also a bit older @ 22 and physically mature. It's just a matter of him getting used to the smaller ice and the speed of the game but he knows how to keep the game simple.

He isn't as "flashy" of a name because he was a 2nd rounder and already dealt and his offense didn't show until this past season.

Subban got 2.5 X 2. Bridge contracts are significantly lower in cap hit.

Sure, that description sounds a lot like the names of Johan Larsson and Anton Lander. Neither are NHL-ready yet.

Larsson is 20. Lander doesn't have the offense or defense Lindberg has.

Lindberg is also a monster in the face-off dot.

Correct, Larsson is indeed 20, however the discussion sterns from Lindberg being thought of as NHL-ready because of Swedish guys like Zibanejad and Silfverberg transitioned smoothly. I gave two player examples that were described similarly to Larsson's playing style and neither made the same impact as Zibanejad and Silfverberg.

Lander was thought of as a defensive wizard that chipped in offensively according to HockeysFuture. IIRC, he was a 7.5B before coming over last season.

Quote:
A very smart two-way player with excellent hockey sense. Lander reads the game well and makes mature decisions with and without the puck. Plays with some intensity, but his skating needs some improvement. Is a capable playmaker that protects the puck very well and usually comes out with the puck from the corners and along the boards. Defensively aware and with leadership skills.
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/anton_lander/

I don't think we can for certain bank on Lindberg or Fast making immediate impacts like Zibanejad and Silfverberg, too risky IMO.

Eberle would be the #1 target in my books. Edmonton would be nuts to move him.

Gandler needs the Jets permission to speak with other teams about his client. The player isn't a free agent yet.

Gandler has a partner in his agency. Todd Diamond. They have Brian Bickel.
Burmistrov would be a massive acquisition for our 3rd line. We would have 3 centers with huge potential and many years to go.

I didn't compare Lindberg to Zib or Silfverberg.

Lander came over at 20-21 and played 56 games. If they are similar players as you are saying, wouldn't a 22 year old Lander seem ready for the NHL?

The Rangers allowed him to play and develop in the SEL rather than bring him over.

Hall
RNH
Yakupov
Eberle

I think the Oilers are going to move Eberle for some help on D, along with their #7.

Will be a very interesting offseason IMO.

I thought they valued Eberle more than Yak?

I doubt they do. Yakupov has a much higher upside than Eberle, IMO. The only reason Yakupov isn't #2 is because RNH is a center, and the Oilers lack depth at C.

I don't hear a lot about Nuge. Anyone know where he's valued out of those 4?

Let's be reminded that Josi is no slouch, he was a top pair defender for the Preds this past season. He was also the best defenseman in the WCs (short tourney though) for a unestablished Swiss roster.
McDonagh has out produced Josi this year AND in 2011-12

Lindbeg and Lander born in same year 1991.

Agree with RNH being more highly-valued because he's a center, but Eberle HAS scored 70+ points already. But Yak certainly looks more engaged.

I'd love Eberle, but his contract scares me.

His contract is ugly, I give him that. I don't think it's worth it for this team to do it with an iffy contract unless Richards is bought out and if we ever made a deal for Ebs, it should be after other cheaper, (close to the same effectiveness) options were exhausted.
