Chris Pronger, easily. Malkin could enter this conversation in 10 years.

Neither has Malkin...

Also I know he's a forward and Pronger is a defenseman but in 18 season Pronger has 698 points and Malkin has 560 in 7 seasons. That's freaking nuts. Pronger is still one of the best defenseman in NHL history but still the numbers Malkin has put up in 7 seasons and will continue to put up are just crazy.

Ummm... yeah, points are a ridiculous metric to use when comparing a Dman to a forward, unless that Dman is Coffey or Orr. Also, you can never say Pronger looked disinterested out there... Malkin looks that way about half the time.

No, he could right now.

Conn Smythe, Art Ross x2, Hart.

There is nothing "easy" about this.

I voted Malkin but it really was a toss up between Malkin and Pronger.

I think when it's all done it will be a toss-up between wanting a #1 D or a #1 C, and I think Pronger would be more valuable in that case.

I also think Shanahan's being a bit under-rated here but Pronger and Malkin are a step above, definitely.
