It feels incredible to know that our top defensive pairing of Weber and Josi is set for the next 7 years. Way to go, Poile!

Its a great contract for both. Josi makes his money as he gets older while the Preds can keep it manageable considering the type of player he is and will become.

This is the best news I have heard in a long time.

I really like Josi. Plays great, doesn't draw attention to himself, recruits players to come to the Preds, and commits long term early in his career.

I hope it is okay for me to post here but I had to come over and congratulate every single Preds fan. This is a brilliant move if Josi keeps his game up. Looking at your roster and that nice piece you will be adding in the draft. Boy things are looking up for Nashville!

Didn't even notice that it starts out low, giving us relief from the Weber front loading, then by the time his deal goes up, Weber's is going down. Beautifully done, DP!

You can tell Josi loves being here.

Wow. That is an insane deal. If he turns out to be half the player we think he is long-term, by the end of that contract it's going to be a ridiculous underpayment. Looks like Poile was determined to avoid another Suter situation. Good for everyone involved! Now the top pairing is basically set for seven years, and the cap hit is low enough that Poile should be able to afford to add some offensive help.

capwise, an overpayment next year, and about right for years 2 and 3. 4-7 are a bargain. Can't figure out why Josi took this, but I'll gladly take it

Best news of the summer so far. Josi could well be the #1 defenseman here in two years hes better than Weber was at that age, This leaves 12 mil in cap space to the top so realistically knowing DP about 10 mil to sign 5 players assuming he does not dump a couple players.

Fantastic signing, I love the guys who want to be here. Josi is obviously one of those guys, and his contract ensures that he will be paid extremely well, yet doesn't handcuff the team or prevent them from adding more talent.

also, he got it done without all of the drama. Maybe, just maybe... we can get through a summer without any catastrophe??

Brilliant signing. Great price for a great player. The only risk that I can reasonably foresee is concussion risk. I assume that, unlike Lombardi, this contract can be insured.

With Rinne and Josi leading the way, I'm now fully prepared to draft, sign and field an all-European team. At least for now, anyway, after having seen the US ruined by $uter, Russia ruined by Rad$, and Hamhui$ and $. Weber combining for a serious dent in a desired for north-of-the-border players. I'm willing to grandfather current roster players and prospects, so long as they are not dating or married to anyone from the great state of Minnesota.

Thus if Barkov isn't available, I assume Lindholm will be the BEPA (best european player available).

Suter notwithstanding, Nashville is pretty obviously a place players like to be...

Josi took it because he realizes that the guaranteed cash is worth it. cap could go down or he could get injured if he takes a short term deal.
