It was on the line, but that wasn't his point. The ump has called that a ball the entire game and all of a sudden calls it a strike. Consistency is key here.

I guess if there was a time to argue to use it, it was now. But on the large I think sac bunts are stupid.

Incorrect. I have seen numerous times where that was been called a strike all day.

And folks that is the supposed leader of the Jays no wonder they suck no leadership and Jose is an idiot. That was a strike so shut your yap and hit the ball.

No wonder Lawrie is a loose cannon he is just following his leader.

Jose had 2 more strikes to work with but was mentality checked out. Be a pro and do your job

say both bautista and EE strike out(or pop out shallow). That sac bunt was pointless and actually hurt the team then. Especially with a red hot lind trailing.

What if Melky hit into a double play?

You very well wouldn't see EE or Lind then.

Well it got rid of the double play. Losing Cabrera to a bunt wasn't nice tho.

I can see both sides, but melky could have also hit into a double play and people would have been questioning why we did not try to bunt and advance the runners and take the double play out of the equation.

Those are two pretty big IFs. Percentages say it's giving you the best chance to score atleast a run.

I dunno I'm just not a fan of handing over outs to the other team. Youre right melky could of hit into a double play, but at least make the teams earn their outs. Don't just give it to them.

I don't know how you can even argue with trading an out for taking away the double play and putting 2 men in scoring position for you 2 biggest RBI men.

I sit far away from my TV so I will take your word. However, the majority of the ball was in the strike zone. He wasn't giving the low call that much. There were balls that were called strikes that was very similar to that call.

Jose can't whine, has to remain calm. It was not a horrendous call.

Show me where percentages say that? Not trying to be a dick, just honestly wondering if it actuallys says that somewhere because in my experience watching games it isn't the case.

I also edited my post to include edwin and bautista pop out as well. So not as big of an IF.

That's the thing, Bautista lost composure after the strike 1 call and swung at 2 **** pitches after he had no business offering at. If he should be mad at anyone it should be himself.

With my post before "what if bautista and EE strike out(pop out) and you don't get a red hot lind to the plate." That's my argument.

You can't exactly take the result as a given since having runners on first and second change the way Nathan pitches.

The chances that you can get to the 3rd batter when you have 2 previous ones having a chance to hit into a double play are probably much lower then it is bunting and ensuring that 2 do.
