No. Not fair at all.

1. Toronto is stacked with defensive prospects. Colaiacovo, Kondratiev, Bell, Hedin, Doherty, Pilar and Harrison all have very good potential. Defensive prospects are the last thing needed.

2. Bergeron is 5'9. We already have an undersized defenseman in the system in Ian White.

The last thing the Oilers want is Tucker..

1. No one in this city likes him, Lowe would be lynched
2. We already have too many forwards and not enough D

No one wants Darcy Tucker.

Bergeron has a huge upside for the Oilers, and they need all the defensemen they can get. Darcy Tuckers best years are long behind him.

Appears to be a no go from both sides. Not addressing either's needs.

Okay, so let's assume that Tucker still has some sort of use for the Oilers. He plays Left Wing. The Oilers have TONS of left wingers. We trade away a defender. The Oilers NEED defenders.

Dumb trade as all Toronto trades are.

We get to hear how "great" all the others teams players are

And then we get to hear how crappy ours are

Too bad none of the teams mentioned ever has more points than Toronto

Just wished you Leaf fans would stop it with the proposals, i'm sick and tired hearing the banal comments about our players. Especially from the fans of bottom feeder teams like Edmonton or Montreal

HAHA, bottom feeders. You better pull ur head outta ur A$$ buddy. The Oilers organization is in a WAY WAY WAY better situation then the leafs. And the Leafs barely even get any more in a completely inferior conference. You are three games ahead of us in a weaker conference and we are bottom feeders? That is SO commical. The Leafs are on the down. They won't win with the team they have now, and they aren't breaking in much youth. OH - how long since the leafs won a cup (had to put that in there)????
Try and argue a point that we are bottom feeders! It'd be an uphill (more like upmountain) battle for you.

Way to generalize. Before you start yappin' off about "all Toronto trades" why don't you do a search and see a common pattern involving trade proposal that includes the Leafs.

No one has said that Bergeron was crappy, read the posts, the closest thing to anyone making a statement that "may" be determined negatively is that he's small. That's not saying he's crap, just stating the facts. Because someone says we don't need another small d prospect you jump to conclusions.

That's probably what put him on the map for a lot of people.

As well, he's got some offensive flair, which is a little lacking on the Oilers' blueline. He might wind up being a PP QB if he makes the team- he's in a tough battle with Mikko Luoma right now.

As well, he's got an attitude that'll make him a fan favorite in Edmonton. The fight where he rag-dolled Scott Nicholl last year was an eye-opener for Oiler fans who didn't realize how feisty he is.

As well, he's short but he's *not* small. He's only 5'9, but he's over 200 pounds, and he's stronger than Mike Ricci's body-odour. His results at the physicals were apparently pretty insane.

And, he's just a few weeks shy of 23, so it's not like he's some guy who's been floating around the minors for years. He's still young enough to be considered a prospect.

Whether he's a *good* prospect is a whole different question- his lack of reach might hurt him, people who've watched him a lot say his defense is lacking. But he could wind up being a guy who fills a niche in Edmonton, and he'll be a guy who the fans will be behind because he's pretty much the Anti-Poti.

The first post was over defensive for the Leafs and a stupid remark was made about the bottom feeders and then you go on the offensive talking smack about the Leafs and of course the ever cliche last cup. That's why.

Nothing to do with my thoughts on either the Leafs or the Oilers, it's just dumb that people start knocking other teams for no just reason. And I'm not saying your entirely at fault here, I'm aware you were responding to a stupid remark made, but normally a is sufficient enough to get your point accross without causing a flame war.

That is a good point - but I couldn't help myself. If it was an Ottawa or Devils or Avs or Wings fan, then fine - what can I say? But a leafs fan calling Edmonton bottom feeders? C'mon

Dude when was the last time a player actually was happy being traded to Edmonton?

When was the last time you signed one of your own U.F.A's?

Why doesn't your #1 center want to play anymore for you?

How many players have held out until the got market value?

How much profit has the Oilers made in the last 10 years?

How many times have they made it into the second round?

How many times have you heard whispers about the team being moved?

How many times in the last 15 years have the Oilers finished with 95+ points?

Yup the Oilers are in better shape than the Leafs. Yup thats for sure. I put down 20 bucks that the Flames will finish ahead of the Oilers.

So when I say bottom feeders, well 8 is closer to the bottom than it is to the top :-)
