Tyler Myers to Montreal

Curious what it would take to get this giant in the bleu, blanc et rouge...could they get away with Desharnais + a second (or LeBlanc)?

I would say probably not. Buffalo fans likely will say similar in much harsher terms.

1st + 2nd + mid level prospect?

ps. Buffalo is rebuilding and it would make so little sense to trade a young D-man with a load of potential.

1st, 3rd (Dallas) and Diaz (Love the guy but too many PMDs on this team)? We can toss in a B- or C level prospect as well.

Would love Myers but I don't think we have the pieces to give up for him. Even if it was Plekanec + Beaulieu or something like that I doubt Buffalo would accept. That would be an overpayment for last year's Myers but underpayment for Myers if he lives up to his potential. Buffalo won't give him for a discount and I doubt anyone is going to pay that much for his potential so I'm guessing Myers is a Sabre for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the table scrap offers, figure for that sort of turd sandwich, they may as well keep him during the retooling to see if he can get back to where he was in the '11 playoffs.

If DR get's drunk or loses a bet and decides to trade Myers it will be for futures and draft picks. They're in full rebuild mode now.

I agree, however Myers does have this Luke Schenn type of feel to him right now. Just can't seem to get it going but as soon as he's traded he'll play to what everyone thinks he should be doing.

Hopefully for Sabres fans that isn't the case and he figures it out again because he can be a dynamic player.

Question though: Has his leg healed up alright? That Subby shot had to hurt,

Myers would play with Gorges or Markov not Subban. If MTL doesn't get a big #2 LHD I think Emelin is destined to partner him going forward.

Maybe they should just draft Samuel Morin instead...

no Habs fan is gonna wanna hear this but think MaxPax or Gally. or Emelin plus a boatload of futures...honestly not many of Montreals prospects intrigue me so it'd prolly be multiple firsts...

again nothing Montreal is gonna wanna hear tho...

I would think the only way he is moved is in a trade for the #1 pick. At least from a Sabres prespective.

Yep that's exactly what he is.

Pacioretty would have to be involved, we need scoring wingers. But then again, trading him opens up a huge hole on our defence so I don't really know what to ask for him.

He's basically not for sale.

QFT. Plus Regier hates trading within the division, so even if he were available, Montreal's chances of landing him would be about none.

For a guy that's been struggling, it really seems like every fanbase on HFboards wants him.

Honestly I think his problem was Lindy Ruff trying to turn him into Chara when his skill-set is closer to a 6'8 version of Lidström. I see little point of a rebuilding team giving up on him unless he struggles under Ron Rolston next year.

In which case I deal Myers at the deadline and hope I still can still get a decent return before it's too late.

I think the best fit for Myers would be the Flyers . They need D . Looks like Schenn found his game once traded out of TO . Flyer have some young centres that may work in a one for one deal

By the way i am a fan of the Oilers , I am just looking at teams need
