Except he'll be signed real soon. Malkin has no desire to be the top dog on his own team.

That bromance's head was cut off at the neck for fans coveting him.

In the next week or so. Shero has full power to offer what he wants, and he wants to be here long-term, and he's going to give a discount so Shero can keep the team competitive to boot.

Sounds like a dead end.

It´s not the same thing. Malkin is almost certainly re-signing with us this summer. We are talking about Sutter vs. Kulemin deal (not about Malkin) which I agree is a fair deal, but we can be a little dicks and throw Kuli´s UFA status there (either with purpose to earn Kuli+ for Sutter or to wait one more year for the free agency and keep Sutter).

Value is there but I wouldn't do it from a Leafs POV. Kulimen is too valuable to this team. Sure he kinda lost his scoring touch lately but he does much more to our team than people think.

Plus we have Colborne ready to take the plunge and he's a solid candidate for #3 C.

As a Leaf fan, it's something I can do. I'm going to hate having to see Kulemin constantly scoring on us off Malkin's passes every time we play.

The value is there, and I guess what happens with Bozak and Grabo over the summer might make something like this necessary to consider. But it's one of those trades I would likely want to take back the next morning. Kulemin looks like a long-term solution to one part of the puzzle for the Leafs, and I would hate to lose him.

You mean someone to help win a board battle or maybe provide a screen for a shot?
