MacT fell in love. As will we. Love is irrational and sometimes, compulsive.

As an analogy how many players have succeeded in the AHL and failed in the NHL? Hartikainen is an excellent example of that.

Same thing can happen to coaches.
Guy Boucher is also a good coach. In my opinion, Yzerman didn't build that team very well for Boucher's philosophy.

Dallas Eakins imo has the right makeup as a coach for the NHL.

If given players that fit his philosophy, the Oilers will be an excellent team down the line.

I sure got sick of Renney and Krueger having the same attitude to losing being acceptable and learning lessons. Eakins is a breath of fresh air.

Lowe, Howson and MacT made it comfortable for Eakins. Wow, never would have expected that to be the deciding factor in him choosing the Oilers.

slow down, people. It will be easier to turn on him if you don't fall too much in love with this guy after one presser.
lol

I'm going to treat this coach like I'd treat going to an adam sandler movie.
expect the results to be a pile of crap so even if it's below average, I'll be relieved.

Eakins said coaching staff is staying status quo for now as he wants to get to know the guys first. Will be looking to bring someone in though.

Buchberger and Smith might be two of the best assistants in the league.

All this Paul Maurice praise tells me the associate job is his if he wants it. Could be interesting to keep an eye on that.

Should get used to him, sink or swim he'll be here for the next 3 years IMO. I'm happy, the more I learn about him the more I like him.

Have you not accepted a job offer before because you felt that you clicked with the potential employer during the meeting? When you are on the same page, it just makes the whole process a lot easier. You are at ease, can be yourself and don’t have to stress over trying to impress them.

I'm surprised at the fact that Lowe and Howson actually made him feel comfortable.
