For me I think it depends on how FA goes. If we grab Vinny but aren't able to secure a #2, I can see them playing him there with maybe Chaisson?

That's a lot to ask of an 18 year old playing his first season in North America. My guess is that we're more likely to see Benn back at center than Nichushkin.

No way do you put 2 rookies on the same line. If Nichushkin ain't broke don't fix him by putting him at C, just stick with Benn down the middle.

I'd rather flip Eriksson and Nichushkin and go with that. Or put him with Eakin, Chaisson back with Whitney, and Eriksson with Benn.

Then you also have Ritchie (W), Oleksiak (D) , Morrow (D) to fill in the year after that, and we're looking at a very stacked roster.

Ya I don't understand the fascination with switching Benn back to Wing only to have Chiasson or Nich try C instead. Why not go with the guy who's proven he can at least be a 60 point player (if not better) and has spent 3 seasons learning C instead of throwing another new player into the learning curve because of organizational weakness. Chiasson was HORRIBLE at C in AHL playoffs btw.

I know we all think Benn can hit some higher potential back on LW, but it's not worth sacrificing the potential of Chiasson or Nich and waiting for them to go through the growing pains Benn has the past 3 years.

Agreed. Sakic/Roy have penciled Statsny into their lineup. No way we get him just for Daley.

Statsny would be a UFA that year, keep in mind.

You should check the trade board. There was an entire Stastny to Dallas thread and Daley was the main piece in nearly all of them, and Avs fans were happy. Obviously this is still HF and not real life, but it's not a crap offer.

I don't know why you come into our forum and start talking **** when you clearly don't have a grasp on both teams players.

A pick would be added to Daley, duh, but it's not like Stastny is light years ahead of Daley in terms of value.

Alot of people penciling Nichushkin on next year roster, but I want some odds. What are they that he's with the Stars next season?

Reading Nill's quotes I would say there's at least a 95% chance of him, at the very least, starting with the team come October.

I agree there is a very high chance he is in the NHL next year. I can't see them saying he never made the team and sending him back to Russia. That is a nightmare scenario.

They're not going to sign the guy right away just to have him go back to the KHL.

Lecavalier will be more expensive than that, and I want to stay far away from Briere unless he really is that cheap.

I wasnt talking ****...I think the Nichushkin pick was the steal of the draft so I am happy for Dallas...that said, I read some posts and observed that post and just thought I would make the comment...didn't realize there were rules preventing me from writing on other teams boards. Sorry, won't happen again. But since I have 10 years of scouting experience, I would say I probably have a better grasp of the players than you do...but, its past your bedtime, you probably have school in the morning...goodnight.

O'connor is a former professional player himself. He doesn't like to boast about it though, so I'll speak up for him.

You come in here and make a snarky comment with no supporting argument. I was letting you know that a Trevor Daley/Paul Stastny base deal was something that wasn't as far fetched as your 10 years of scouting experience would lead you to believe.

I'm not even going to address the last "insult" as that's something that only a kid would say in the first place.
