Feel free to mock my mock.

1. MacKinnon (Avs)
2. Barkov (FLA)
3. Jones (TB)
4. Drouin (Nashville trades their pick to the Avs for Duchene and they take Drouin giving them both Mac and Drouin)
5. Monahan (Carolina swaps picks with the Leafs for Gardiner or Phaneuf and the Leafs take Monahan).
6. Horvat (CGY)
7. Lindholm (Edmonton swaps picks with Dallas for Goligoski)
8. Nichushkin (BUF)
9. Zadorov (NJ)
10. Lazar (Oilers take Lazar at 10)
11. Nurse (PHI)
12. Domi (PHO)
13. Gauthier (WPG)
14. Mantha (CBJ)
15. Shinkaruk (NYI)
16. Ristolainen (BUF)
17. Wennberg (OTT)
18. Pulock (DET)
19. Erne (CBJ)
20. Mueller (SJ)
21. Rychel (CAR)
22. Fucale (CGY)
23. Zykov (WSH)
24. Morrissey (Vancouver)
25. Burakovsky (Montreal)
26. Bowey (Ducks)
27. Hartman (CBJ)
28. Klimchuk (CGY)
29. Petan (Dal)
30. McCarron (CHI)

-Avs walk away with Mac and Drouin.
-Buffalo snags Nichushkin and Ristolainen (Big winners of the draft)
-Flames get Horvat, Fucale and Klimchuk. Pass the Oilers in rebuild by making the playoffs before we do.
-CBJ has a huge draft picking up Mantha, Erne and Hartman.
-Oilers pass on Lindholm who goes on to win the Calder the year after next. Goligoski requests a trade after next season and Lazar fizzles out in OKC in Tyler Pitlick like fashion.

That was an interesting mock IATL. I think those trades are actually pretty realistic. I don't think Florida would pass on Jones though, just a hunch.

I like this mock draft... so much hope and optimism mixed with the pessimism of reality.

i think it would be a fun idea to put in top 10 players drafted and in what order. no trades or hypothetical just at which spot each player gets picked.

Feaster says they would consider it a factor if the player they wanted at six wasn’t going to come over right away.

Ya..so this pretty much means they're going to take Monohan if Carolina doesn't take him first. I hope we move up somehow. I really want him.

I hope we can trade up. I definitely don't want Calgary taking him.

Reason why I have an issue with Calgary taking Monahan is that I think Lindholm and Nichushkin are better players.

That's going to make me more sad when MacT steps up and drafts Nurse.

Well this actually shows that they are interested in an overseas player and unless he doesnt want to come over right away they will pick him..
Lindholm is the man for them if he is ok with coming over.

I kinda think we take Lindholm if Monahan is gone. He agrees that center is a priority. And Lindholm could turn out be great, Zetterberg-lite. I'm just worried he turns out to be Gagner 2.0.

I hope your right. Wouldn't it be best for Lindholm to develop another year in Sweden anyway? Sounds like the 2007 draft when we drafted Gags and brought him in the league fairly quickly. Is there a Hossa/Heatley for Calgary to chase now?

While I want Monahan, I won't be sad with Nurse either. Having Klefbom, Schultz, Nurse, Marincin, Musil and Gernat as prospects... all of a sudden we're one of the most, if not the strongest team for defensive prospects.

Maybe but Monahan sounds like he could be NHL ready, and his only options are Jr and NHL if I'm not mistaken.

The think with Nurse is that he isnt really a clear cut 2nd best Dman this draft.
Some have Zadorov ahead of him, McKenzie has Ristolainen..
Unless they have scouted the heck out of him and are confident that he can overcome his lapses it is better to pick a forward...
Especially in a deep draft like this where a guy like Hagg or Morissey might be available in 2nd.

Ristolainen sounds like the big riser right now.

He's HUGE...David Staples would probably draft him #1.

My draft prediction. Just to see how I guessed in the aftermath.

7. Elias Lindholm
37. Shea Theodore
56. Tristan Jarry

and whatever comes next.

I'd be happy with those three picks if by some miracle we retain them.

Edmonton tweeting some Sean Monahan quotes and a picture of Monahan surrounded by Millhouse and Co.

Sean Monahan tells us he was in Edmonton a couple of weeks ago for a tour and a visit, including a stop at Daryl Katz's home. - Tencer

This means they'll probably not take Lindholm as he has stated that he'll stay at least one year in the SHL(as it is now named).
So yeah my guess would be Monahan. Or they are putting pressure on Lindholm to come over straight away. Which imo would be a mistake. I think he'd do fine but for his development it's probably better to stay one year and hit PPG in Sweden as Brynäs #1C.
