For those of you that are into the Zombie Apocalypse: Zone One by Colson Whitehead.

It's about a zombie sweep team in lower manhattan. Absolutley amazing read. Basically they've already had the big battle to retake the Island, the book follows the secondary team going room to room to kill the remaining zombies. High Brow, awesome writing.

Expect to see this made into a movie.

Has anybody been watching The Bridge on FX? Only two episodes in, I've really enjoyed it so far.

Started watching Homeland and the Sopranos. Both great shows. The Sopranos is a bit different than I thought it would be but that's in a good way. Homeland gets real good about five or six episodes in.
Sopranos constantly plays on your expectations on what you "think" it should or is about. Why it is such a good show. It isn't just a mob show. Few people who I know who didn't like the last few seasons only seemed to like it as a mob show and not everything else about it.

Plan on using Netflix in September to have a Breaking Bad marathon if possible when my daughter is born. Have heard nothing but great things about it.

We mentioned it the other day, but there hasn't been too much talk. My husband and I love it. Haven't watched this past week's episode yet, but so far so good.

Breaking Bad is amazing! The episodes are intense and always leave you on the edge of your seat.

Really liking it so far. Great acting and writing. Seems like another great character driven show for HBO.

One episode in so far for me and I'm on the fence. The last 10 minutes of episode 1 drew me in to give it at least another couple episodes before I would consider pulling the plug. I see potential there and will allow them to develop it.

it's ok but the Sonya character is unbearable, Diane Kruger can't act her way out of a paper bag

Is that the main character your talking about? Cause she was one of my biggest problems with episode 1 so obviously she's not going anywhere Some of her acting really felt out of place.

Her character has autism, she's supposed to be emotionless and mechanical.

Emmy Award nominations were released today. I love Peter Dinklage, but if anyone from Game of Thrones deserved a nomination for Best Supporting Actor, it was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He was ****ing brilliant in season 3, especially the tub scene.

Not sure how many here watch comic book movies but today they announced that Batman would co star with Superman in the second "Man of Steel" movie in 2015.

Flash in 2016 and Justice League in 2017.

saw pacific rim in 3d, it was actually pretty good i thought. the story was mediocre but that's to be expected with action movies. i wanted giant robots fighting giant aliens and by george i got them! the effects were spectacular and i appreciated that they didn't fall into the classic action movie traps of just filling it with bad jokes and vulgarity and calling it a day.

knee-jerk reaction to Avengers success. love DC but this will suck hard. Man of Steel is one of those films you utterly love at the time, then you leave the theatre and realise it was actually that good at all

Well not knee jerk... If anything they are 5 years behind the game, when Marvel started establishing their cinematic universe with Iron Man. I like Marvel and DC so there's no fanboy war with me and I just want to see both do well. They have said that they are going to take inspiration from Dark Knight Returns which is an amazing comic and now animated movie. Very good storyline that will showcase Batman vs Superman.

Still waiting on Guardians of the Galaxy news from Marvel.

I don't know why but I'm a little skeptical and a little worried about a Superman/Batman crossover of sorts. No real concrete rationale behind it. Maybe its just a concern of how much it would hurt if it bombed. Marvel spent a lot of time intertwining the stories/characters that Avengers was well set up, even if you want to argue about how well the storyline was written out for them to really join together. Feels like its much more out of nowhere in this case, unless its all built up during the course of the film. Don't want to make much of a judgment until it actually happens. But it worries me a bit for now.
