Also, does anyone here collect vinyl? My collection is up to 71 records. It's so addicting.

Has anyone watched the new show on HBO called True Detective?

I've watched 3 episodes now and I'm about to pull the plug.... Very slow start and disappointed so far.

Really? I really liked the first two episodes, missed last nights though. It might seem a little slow, but it will pick up soon I bet.

Right here. Not sure what my count is, I have some old records passed down and newer stuff I got. I was never big on CDs, figured if I really like an album I'll get the vinyl of it.

Yup. My collection sits at 185 right now. Sadly, that does not include all the records that I had as a kid which got traded, sold or broke. Have only been collecting vinyl again for a couple years now.
Highly addictive. The first thing that hooked me again was having the nice big artwork in your hands.

Yeah the artwork is a big reason. I am up to 78 now. It's just better to sit around and listen to a record. You don't do that with CDs.

I think the writing and acting has been good but I'm not much for long drawn out dialog (never been a Tarantino fan for this reason, despite some good movies I cringe whenever I see a 15 minute speach coming )

I saw True Detective had over a 9 out of 10 on imdb and was just curious how others felt.

Helix I'm enjoying so far.

I feel like CDs are getting phased out by people who really love music. I would much rather buy a vinyl that has a digital download code in it.

Yeah, that's another thing I like. You commit time to sit down and listen to a record. You don't just skip around to tracks like on a CD.
The "warm" sound of vinyl is unmatched to me as well.

my wife and I like the show a lot, it's very dark and you kinda have to follow it but the acting is great, it really keeps the show moving

I'm so happy right now the Brent Smith ( shinedown ) covers EP is finally out. Bon Jovi blocked it from coming out until they removed " Wanted " off the EP. Well it's out now and I'm in music heaven.

How about House of Cards?

I've watched the two seasons in a week. I watched the first season in two days.

Dispite my distaste for it, I stuck it out with my rule of trying to give shows 4 episodes or so to get my attention and last weeks episode steered me away from deleting it off my DVR. Haven't watched last nights yet but I'm actually really looking forward to it.

I have season 1 on my Netflix list but haven't started it yet.

Speaking of Netflix exclusives... Did they ever put the last season of Arrested Development on DVD to rent or are they still just streaming it? I can't find it to add.
