Maybe on the direct sunlight. And you realize burgundy is a shade of red, right? So i fail to see how is it even bad thing that shade of red looks like shade of red instead of almost black, which is the case right now? It was still way darker than the Red Wings red or Chicago´s red - it was simply about right.

I cant even say whether its shade of red or brown color on that Roy´s jersey. No issue with the other, Sakic´s one.

EDIT:

Difference between current burgundy and actual fairly standard red on Flames uniform is staggering. If you made it somewhat lighter, as it used to be in 96, it would be still miles away from that flames red.

Nah, the side panels need to stay blue, IMHO.

With a little hem striping to help separate the jersey and pants.

Someone posted a shopped version of a jersey like that somewhere in a thread on the main board many moons ago that was roughly the same idea. It worked.

Where the removal of piping and the addition of arm stripes really looks better:

That's perfect. We don't need a complete re-design, just get rid of the piping and make it similar to what we had before.

I think that it would be cool to have a snow themed element on the shoulder.

In today's world, a solution might be to get a lot of people to bug the hell out of their Twitter account w/ this question..it might catch the proper peoples' attention

Someone bothers the Avs already on a constant basis, wouldn't hurt to tweet them the Landy pic though. Maybe try to get someone on the Fan to ask Roy about it on the radio show, they do solicit and ask fan questions. Or get Dater to get off his ass and ask around.

They should re-brand the Avs as 'the Rocky Mountain Express'!!!

I don't think it's "almost black," and yes I'm aware it's darker shade of red.

The current Avs shade is becoming closer to Maroon rather than Burgundy. Burgundy should have more blue in it.

It is, on TV from distance. Its so dark its difficult to distinguish the blue parts from the burgundy ones...

Are these meant to be the current and older shade?

Something's just occurred to me about this picture...

his jersey has an A on it. Does that mean he was a Forsberg fan?

Dream scenario: Next season we get a winter classic, something incredibly similar to this is used as our jersey, then in the off season they create an away version, making them our new jerseys for the foreseeable future.
