KHL club Traktor Chelyabinsk has sent a contract offer to LA's Slava Voynov

Anybody know more about this? Especially the details of the offer.

Voynov is an RFA so he could sign this without restrictions.

Considering how much time he spent developing in the AHL and not bolting for the KHL in previous years where he had the opportunity to, I am going to venture a guess that Voynov remains in the NHL.

I don't see Voynov leaving. He's a RFA this summer and I'd expect he'll resign as soon as possible for the Kings.

Probably nothing more than leverage for Voynov. He's not going anywhere.

I guess my question is "How much leverage?" Caps are going to be tight this offseason.

And that's the multimillion dollar question. If you're looking at precedents, the Josi deal is very fresh in the minds of many.

IIRC, and I can't remember where I wrote it, the Chelyabinsk GM, himself, admitted it was "unlikely" that Voynov would be joining their team but that they at least had to try.

Hoping he goes to Russia

Kid as a great player and I'm tired of hating him because he's a King

Not for veteran UFAs it won't be.

I predict he re-signs with the Kings, 6 years $28-mil

I doubt he signs that long of a contract, but I'd love it if he does.

The KHL will offer him a lot more money now than previously. It will certainly give him leverage and drive up his asking price even if he doesn't re-sign.

Also, who says he's enjoyed his time here. Would he be the first person to romanticize moving abroad and then reconsider once they realize how hard integration really is.

If you're going to play hardball with Lombardi in negotiations, it's a good idea to have a plan B.

Be very bummed if he were to leave for the KHL (don't think he will). He's a very terrific young Defenseman and was GREAT in the playoffs.

If he gets more money from KHL, he should just go there. Good for him to have options.

Yeah, but the impact of that shouldn't be underestimated either.

Who would be cocky trying to force a kid to take a bridge contract if the KHL drops a money bag infront of him.

Voynov will re-sign in LA and enjoy the life of a millionaire in California. Heard that place isn't too shabby when you have money. On top of that the Kings are an extremely well build team. They have the core to win a couple more Stanley Cups in the next years. Quick, Brown, Kopitar, Doughty, Richards, Carter, Voynov. And they will get even better with that return they get in the trade of Bernier. Bad times to be a Duck to be honest.

I hope the KHL offered him 9 mil a year tax free for 5 years and he takes it. That would be great.

terrible overpayment for a young dman. A Letang-type 3.5M deal would be more appropriate.

I would expect any contract offer Voynov receives from the KHL will be filed under "read later if the Kings jerk you around during negotiations".

I would be shocked if he leaves for the KHL.
